lydia's pov

The morning sun greets me sweetly. Shinning softly onto my pale skin, I roll over and read the time on my phone. Six twenty-four. Holy shit I was very very late. I hopped out of bed and scrambled to get clothing on. Of course, today was the day when I could find my scrubs.

"Where are they?" I mumble to myself, tearing boxes of clothing apart. When I finally did I shoved it into my bag and hurried to put on something cute. Nothing was clean.

I ended up wearing an oversized My Chemical Romance sweatshirt I bought in the tenth grade and leggings. I threw on dirty vans and ran out the door. I barely got to the bus stop in time and Tenya was there before me.

He gave a big smile and a wave. "Hey Lydia"

I gave him a half smile as I approached. "Hey," I replied.

"You good?" He asks.

I nod. "Yeah I just, I woke up late and I feel really gross."

"Well, you don't look gross. I like your sweatshirt. It's cute."

"You actually know this band?"

He nods. "Mhm. I used to love them a lot," He replies. His comment makes me laugh. "Oh also, I'm turning my resignment letter in today."

My eyes go wide. "You are?"

"Yep."

Impressed, I nod my head. "Have you found a new job?" I ask.

He shakes his head. "I will soon, but as of right now no. It's okay though. I have more than enough money saved up to live off of until I get a new job."

"I'm proud of you," I tell him.

He smiles. "I'm proud of you too." he pauses. "Do you wanna come to my apartment today?"

I think for a moment. Not having anything else to do I nod. "Yeah, sounds good to me."

A few minutes later the bus is here, we sit next to each other as usual and hold hands. We talk about whatever comes to mind, which comforts me. The ride comes to an end and I wave him goodbye as I walk to my work.

I throw my scrubs on over my clothing as I walk down the sidewalk. Once inside my office, I was greeted by Jennifer. "Hey Lydia," She greets.

I smile and wave to her. She gives me a rundown of what she wants me to do and I immediately get to it. The day ends just as fast as it began and I'm out of the clinic quickly. I wanted to see Tenya. His smile made me really happy. Not only that but I wanted to know how his letter went. When I got to his work he was outside the building waiting for me. I waved and he waved back.

"So how'd it go?" I ask as we begin walking.

He takes a deep breath in. "In two weeks I will no longer be working for First American Title insurance."

I smile widely. "Congrats Tenya!" I shout.

He laughs and smiles. "I'm kind of excited yknow? They'll be new co-workers and a bigger paycheck and it might not be that bad yknow?"

I nod. "A little overwhelming too I'm sure."

He chuckles. "That too." He gestures with his hands. I take the opportunity to clasp my fingers around his, which makes him blush. I giggle at his flustered state.

"Cutie," I mumbled under my breath.

On our way to the bus stop, I glance at the music store across the street. I've seen it a thousand times walking down the sidewalk, and I've always reminded myself to go inside but I never had.
