Iida's pov
While I'm getting ready for work, so is Lydia. I can see her brushing her hair out in front of the bathroom mirror and washing her face. She's very pretty. "Hey Tenya, can I borrow that shirt now?" She shouts from the bathroom.
"Yeah," I reply and start digging through my clothing drawers. I pull out a simple blue Adidas sweatshirt. I toss it to Lydia. "Does that work?" I ask.
She nods. "It's cute."
I smile and go back into my room to put on clothes for work. I had many suits so it was never a problem to get dressed in the morning. I picked one out and put it on. Once I was done I cleaned my glasses and made sure my hair didn't look unkempt.
My phone started buzzing in my pocket mid-way through doing my hair. I reach to see who it is and smile. I answer it immediately.
I know that Tensei is probably at work and would be a thousand times more comfortable speaking in Japanese, so when I reply, "Hello, Tensei! It's nice to hear from you. What's up?" It comes out a lot different than it sounds in English.
I can hear a chuckle from across the line. "Good morning Tenya. So Mom and Dad and I were all talking last night and we all agreed that we wanted to visit you again! It's been such a long time. Of course, we'd have to know if you were okay with that and when we could visit."
I pause. "Um. Well. If you could fly in next weekend that works for me. What about you guys?" I reply.
I can hear Tensei taping and flipping through papers. "Yeah, we'll just have to work out flights and hotels and stuff," he tells me.
"Well, if it works out for next weekend tell me, and if it doesn't we'll work out another date."
"Yes. Love you Tenya, bye."
"Love you too," I reply before hanging up. I shove my phone back into my pocket.
Lydia leans around the doorway and smiles. "Ready?" She asks. I nod and grab my bag. "Who was that?" she asks as we walk through my apartment door.
"Oh, just my brother. My parents and him want to visit soon so."
"Oh gosh I'll be meeting your parents?" she asks.
I nod and gesture with my hands. "Afraid so star," I tell her.
She looks down at the ground. "Do you think they'll like me?"
"Of course! They'll love you just as much as I do."
As we walk to the bus stop I notice that Lydia's been looking down a lot and twiddling her thumbs. She's also rather quiet, which is odd for her.
"Is something wrong love?" I ask.
Lydia looks up at me. "Huh? What? No, I'm- I'm fine," She says.
I shake my head. "You can always talk to me if somethings bothering you yknow."
She exhales heavily. "Meeting your parents is very scary. I just, I don't know. I really really really like you and I just hope that your parents don't dislike me. They might judge us or something I don't know. You get the point though I have doubts," she explains.
I wrap my arm around her shoulder and pull her head into my body. "Lydia, absolutely nothing could stop me from being with you and loving until otherwise proven. Don't worry about my parents. I promise you they won't hate you. I know them well they won't. Okay? I love you," I say before kissing her head.
"I love you too," she mumbles. "Hey um yesterday, when you sang, was really good. I had no idea you could sing."
I shrug. "I didn't either, to be honest with you."
She giggles. "You have a stunning voice."
Her comment makes me blush. "You're really good at playing guitar yknow," I tell her.
"Thanks."
There's a break of silence between us. It's peaceful silence. All I can hear is Lydia's breathing and the distant squeal of tires on pavement. We wait for the bus and eventually part ways when going to work.
When I step into the office the secretary greets me. "Mr. Iida, nice to see you this morning. Can you help me with the printer it seems to be broken," she tells me.
"Oh uh. Sure."
She smiles. "Thanks." Her heels click against the marble floors as we walk into the staff room. "So I heard you're quitting?" she says.
I nod. "Yeah."
She hums as she goes up to the printer. "I can't seem to get it to make copies."
I lean over and fiddle with the printer for a moment. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see the secretary leaning over the counter and tapping her nails. She's staring me down. The printer dings and begins working once again. "I did it."
She smiles widely. "Thank you so much."
I start to walk away but her hand grabs my wrist and turns me around. "Wait, Iida," she says.
I glance back at her. "Wha-" before I can finish my sentence, she suddenly crashes into me, pressing her lips against mine. I hesitate to respond, not even comprehending what's happening. When I do, I shove her off. "What the fuck," I cursed.
She looked at me. "Did you enjoy it?" She asked.
I grimaced at her. "Not at all. That's extremely inappropriate behavior. I am not interested especially after that," I told her before storming out of the staff room.
I was left uncomfortable for the rest of the day. I thought about Lydia the entire day too. When the day was done I was happy to leave. I waited for Lydia and eventually saw her walking towards me. She waved and smiled widely.
"Hello, star!" I told her.
"Hi Tenya," Lydia chuckled.
We walk back to the bus stop talking about our days at work. I purposely don't mention the whole secretary thing. When we reach the stop Lydia stretches out her arms and yawns. "I wanna spend the night at your place but I'm out of clothes," she mumbles.
I sigh. "I know. I want you to spend the night as well. You could always grab what you need and come over to my place?" I suggest.
She nods. "Sounds good to me! I'll be over as soon as I can," she tells me with a smile.
We part ways and all the way back all I can think about is the stupid secretary. I didn't like it whatsoever. I didn't want to kiss anyone but Lydia. She was so lovely and kind. How could I want anyone but her? I washed my face and made my bed while waiting. I ended up job searching for a while until I heard a knock on the door.
When I open the door it's Lydia. Shes changed into black shorts and a long sleeve sweatshirt. I smile and let her in. Almost immediately she flops down on the couch.
I sit down next to her and pull her into my arms. She leans against my chest and yawns. I felt like I owed her something, and like I needed to prove my love to her.
Pushing my thoughts aside, I put my hand against her cheek gently trace over her cheekbones before softly kissing her. My hands rise up her sweatshirt and gently grip onto her waist. She deepens the kiss and begins using her tongue. I bite down on her tongue soft enough that it's not painful but hard enough that it earns a low mewl from Lydia. We disconnect for a moment and I take off my t-shirt and degrade it to the floor. While I'm doing so Lydia has taken off her shirt. We go back to kissing for a while until I pull off and pick her up bridal style. She smirks as I lead her into my room where our makeout session goes much, much farther.
