lydia's pov

As June melted into July, July swept into August, soon enough August was September and then October, and finally, it was November. The venue was rented, the guests were all evaluated, flowers were purchased. Invitations were sent, hotels were booked, suits and dresses were all ready for the grand day. My wedding.

Tenya had convinced his parents and brother to come, which I thanked God for. His groomsmen were friends from Japan that I hadn't ever met before. Todoroki, Midoriya, and Ojiro. They seemed to be very close though, so I didn't question it. And, they were very kind to me.

A few days before the wedding Lucy took me to a hair salon. She sighed happily as we got out hair washed together. "Are you excited?" she asks.

I chuckle. "Of course I am. I'm getting married!" I replied.

The hairdresser finished washing my hair, blow dried it out. I asked her to dye the entire thing a dark brown and completely forget about highlights. I didn't like them anyways. When it was all said and done, my hair looked gorgeous. As for Lucy she got a trim and highlights done. After our hair, we went to a nail salon. We giggled about our childhood and all the exciting things that were to come. The day ended quicker than I expected, and when it was done Lucy drove me to her apartment in Berkeley.

It was a little bit of a drive, but nothing she couldn't handle. She leads me into her apartment, and before she even opened the door I could hear music and the giggles that Cana and Juvia are exchanging.

"The brides here!" Lucy announces to the apartment as she opens the door.

The other two girls rush up to me and wrap me in their warm arms. I chuckle and hug them both back. Juvia pulls off and squeals. Cana and Lucy laugh at her, and I can't help to feel like we're all back in high school again. It's a weird sense of nostalgia, but I don't mind it.

We talk mostly. Just talking to each other, about all the things we want and need and everything that circulates our mind. And of course, we drink alcohol. I make sure not to drink too much, hoping that I won't be hungover tomorrow morning when I walk down the aisle.

Juvia lays on the floor, her head on my crisscrossed knees, centered right in my lap. Cana is passed out on the couch, and Lucy is painting her toenails.

As Lucy paints the last stroke on her nail she yawns and looks at all of us. "Are we ready to go to bed?" she asks.

I nod, stretching my arms out. She lets me sleep in her bed so that by tomorrow morning I'm well rested. I sleep well -thank god- and so do the other three. The next morning is spent sitting around Lucy's coffee table eating croissants and fruit and watching The Simple Life. It feels way too early to be awake as its six in the morning, but we probably need that much time anyways.

Juvia walks out of Lucy's room with a box in her hands. "I got this for you," she says, placing the box in my hands.

"Oh thank you," I say. Gently, I unwrap the gold ribbon and open the white box. Inside is a silky white robe, with the word 'bride' etched on the back. It's gorgeous.

Cana chuckles and says, "We thought you would like to wear that around while we get ready this morning."

I smile wide. "Thank you, you guys are so sweet."

A few moments later our plates are clean and the morning really begins. We have to get ready here instead of at the venue, simply because there wouldn't be a whole lot of space at the venue. I take a shower, brush my teeth and hair out in the bathroom before even beginning on doing makeup or hair or putting the dress on.

Juvia does my makeup while Lucy curls my hair. I feel extremely pampered. Lucy tugs at my hair, tieing it with a light pink ribbon in the back. She's left it half down half up, curled it so that it looked natural and messy. In the front two pieces were left out that fall sweetly in front of my face. Juvia left my face natural and simple too. I look pretty and gracefully.

They do their own makeup, with the exception of Cana; she needs some extra help because she never wears makeup. By the time we're ready to put on dresses and shoes its already ten am.

After the girls get their dresses on and situated, I scurry off to the room with Cana to get my dress on. Cana gently laces the gown together, making sure I'm comfortable and put together all at the same time. "How are you feeling?" she asks me.

I sigh. "Nervous. Excited too. And happy."

She chuckles. "Suck in so I can tie it extra tight," she mentions. I obey and she tugs at the strings until the bodice is tight against my torso. I feel her tie it into a bow and then leave it alone. "Feel okay?" she asks. I nod. She pulls my shoes out of the closest and I step into them before both of us step out of the room.

Lucy and Juvia compliment me endlessly. I compliment them too because truly they look just as stunning.

Lucy hands me my bouquet of flowers and then a bag. "Another gift," she says sweetly.

I toss aside the tissue inside to reveal white lingerie. I give Lucy a look. "What's this for?"

She laughs. "Tonight," she replies with a wink.

I blush and place the lingerie back in the bag. The thought of Tenya tonight is so indulgent, so I'll save it for later.

Suddenly Juvia shouts, "Fuck we're gonna be late."

My head shouts up. "Shit okay let's go then."

We exit the house as quick as we can, pilling into Lucy's car. The ceremony starts at two and it's already one. I close my hands together and pray that traffic is light so Lucy can get there in time. She's such a responsible driver, so it's a shock when she goes twenty over the speed limit. I turn on the radio to distract us from the situation but then turn it down again when I realize there's nothing good on.

"I have an aux," Lucy tells me and points to the white cord.

I plug it into my phone and chose a song that will definitely lighten the stressful mood. The first chords strike. In the back of the car, I can hear Cana drumming along to the beat on her thigh. In high school, us four would listen to one song on repeat. Jasey Rae. It meant everything to us, and I guess it just felt right for the moment.

We sing it all the way through and change it to another All Time Low song and repeat until we're at the Conservatory of Flowers.

"Guys cmon we gotta go it's two fifty were way late," Lucy says urgently.

We hop out of the car and practically run to make it on time. By the time we get to where we should be, Tenya and his groomsmen are all waiting for us.

My dad stands by the door I walk through. He gives me the biggest hug. "Your mother would have loved the way you look," he mumbles.

The bridesmaids go, a young girl throws white and pink rose petals. Music plays and then it's my cue to go. My dad wraps his arm around mine with a smile, and I begin the walk.
