"Levi." I said. He looked up to me in slight shock and relief, almost cracking a smile.

"Really?" He asked. I nodded.

"You were the first person I ever truly loved. There's just something about that that makes me fall in love with you again every single day." I smiled at him. "I think it was you all along."

Jean released his grip on Jake and I walked over to him. "I can't tell you how sorry I am, Jake. I was so confused and just didn't know what to do. You're an amazing person and the best friend I've ever had, but I think that's all that we were meant to be. You were there for me through everything, and I don't think I could ever thank you enough. I love you, Jake, just not in the way I think you were hoping."

"I get it." He gave me a small smile and held back some tears. "As long as you're happy, I'm happy." I pulled him into a tight hug.

"It may sound cliché, but there's somebody out there for you. Any girl would be so lucky to have you." I said and pulled away. He then stood up and walked over to Levi, holding out his hand. Levi looked at it for a second before shaking it.

"Take good care of her, Levi. You're really lucky." Jake said. "I wish you two the best."

"Thank you, I will." Levi nodded.

Epilogue

Shortly after I made my decision, Hanji found a way to send Jake back to our world. He finished school and started his career. He settled down with a nice girl from high school and had a couple kids. Hanji found a way to charge my phone so we regularly face-timed and kept in touch.

After we exterminated all the titans, Levi and I got married and had a few kids of our own, a girl first and then a boy and another girl. He fulfilled his dream of opening up his own tea shop one day so we spent a lot of our time there. It was perfect, like a dream come true.

Hanji and Erwin ended up getting married, too, and were the godparents of our children. Sometimes I still missed my old world and some of the people there, but I knew that wherever Levi was, my happiness and contentment would be, too.

The end.
