"Um...what? Artemis?" She blinked "woah! Artemis. Oh yeah, goddess of the moon! Okay! Why didn't you tell me? You're seriously a seaweed brain!" Annabeth exclaimed. I face palmed. Why hadn't I told her sooner? "She's been here like a day. Plus, you've got tons of other stuff going on." I said, not wanting to get her into this "like what? I'm free." Annabeth shrugged it off "well... you're cousin... studying... smart people stuff?" I said, worrying about a potential prophecy "well. That might be true... but I'd much rather help you out. What's our first move? Do we have to ask for a quest?" She said, clearly excited. I couldn't help but remember when Annabeth has almost joined the hunt. "I don't know about any of that. For now let's just try and find The Hunt." I said as I gave her the most earnest l could muster. This wasn't like me but I really didn't want her to get involved in this. "The hunt? I assumed she wouldn't be able to see them." Annabeth replied "me too. But it turns out..." I started "I'm allowed to have contact with them. Perseus has offered to help me find them." Artemis butted in, no doubt feeling left out. "Really? How were you going to find them?" Annabeth crossed her arms, giving me a smug look. Wise girl. "I-i don't know..." in reality I didn't know how I was going to find them without Annabeth. "He didn't think that far ahead." Artemis frowned at me "well. I've got one thing we could try." Annabeth said "what would that be?" Artemis answered for me "we could Iris-Message Thalia." She replied, nodding to herself "hey wait! I thought of that!" I exclaimed, snapping my fingers as I remembered my idea "really?" Annabeth muttered, obviously I impressed and or surprised her "yes. I suppose you did." Artemis frowned at me again "let's just... call Thalia..." I said. They're faith in me is a little disappointing. "Alright. Let's get a hose and some drachmas." Annabeth said, giving me a smile

"Oh yeah. We're in a forest in South Dakota. We left Apollo a while ago, why are you asking?" Thalia Grace, lieutenant of The Hunters of Artemis, and former tree stood in a rainbow "we have something you should see, Pinecone Face." I said, calling her by my favorite nickname "oh yeah? What's that, Kelp Head?" Thalia smirked "we've got the goddess of the hunt." I smiled widely, relishing the thrill of surprising her "what!?" Thalia's jaw dropped "Yeah. She's right here." Annabeth said, pulling Artemis into the frame "hello Thalia Grace." She said, her eyes almost glittering "I'd appreciate it if we could come over." Artemis gave her lieutenant a small smile "Yeah! Of course! Yeah!" Thalia sputtered, as the image disappeared and she scrambled to get things in order

It took a bit but I managed to call Mrs O'Leary and we shadow traveled to the forest where Thalia was supposed to be. The big dog was tired but managed to stay awake for a little bit before passing out, as she did. Annabeth, Artemis, and I walked through the dark forest together, searching for the hunt. I turned to Artemis "do you have any ideas on how to spot The Hunt? This is taking too long." I said as Artemis gave me a look "try to find smoke. When the Hunters want to be found they'll use smoke as a beacon." She said "smart." Annabeth commented, taking my hand and giving it a squeeze as if she were signaling that She had totally thought of that. From then on I kept my eyes on the skyline, searching for light in the darkness. Annabeth suddenly squeezed my hand tight, like a vice grip "Look! A fire!" She pointed with her other hand in the direction of a faint light. Artemis squinted "your right. That may be them, let's take a look." She jogged towards the light and, after sharing a look, we followed. When we finally caught up to Artemis we were surprised too, not only fail to find the hunt but to find a hoard of monsters. There were a ton of harpies and two Hydras. Harpies? Hydras? That's not... normal. At all. I was confused but I uncapped Riptide and gave a firm nod to Annabeth, who was already unsheathing her knife. I spotted Artemis with in the arms of two particularly nasty harpies with a murderous look on her face. I remembered that she was without any sort of weapon. I charged towards her, trying not to focus on the claws and fire and acid. I was still a little bit cautious since the loss of the Curse Of Achilles. The first wave of harpies came upon me and I swung my sword In a large arc, instantly vaporizing a decent chunk of the chicken ladies. One flew too far over my head while this happened and attempted to lodge her claws into my back but Annabeth stopped it with a quick jab to the face. I flashed a quick smile as I remember that she always had my back. I couldn't help but remember when she saved me from certain death back when Kronos was trying to destroy Olympus. More harpies overwhelmed my vision and I lost Annabeth in the crowd. It was very hard to keep myself alive, which is one thing I like about myself, The only advantage I could claim was the length of my sword. My body was severely cut up and I was losing stamina. Not to brag but I, Percy Jackson: killer of the Minotaur (it was so long ago. Get over it), defeater of Kronos (working title), scourge of Olympus (I pride myself on that one), and one of the seven demigods who decimated Gaea, was going to be killed by a bunch of old ladies with wings and a few acid spitting multi-headed lizards.
