this is a story about the characters of mlp existing as students in Hogwarts school for witchcraft and wizardry. this takes place after the 7th Harry Potter book, but before the illegible abomination that is The Cursed Child. the characters featured...
The girls continued on through the strange tunnels, finally reaching a underground river.
"Great, how are we gonna cross this?" Rainbow asked, they then heard a loud crying.
"Manti says he can't get us across." Fluttershy said, sliding off him and rubbing his neck. "Go on back to your home boy, we'll be okay." she said.
The Manticore purred, lumbering away.
"Come on, let's find out where that crying's coming from." Twilight said/
They headed in the direction of the sobbing to find a mermaid huddled in the stream.
"Oh you poor dear, what's wrong?" Rarity asked.
The mermaid looked up, letting out screeches
"What?" Applejack asked
"She said: Oh, it's some humans." Fluttershy translated
"How...?" Twilight began to ask
"I don't know, but at least I can translate." Fluttershy replied. The mermaid screeched again "She says that she was taking a swim in the river when her hair got sliced off by a strange blue smoke."
"Oh dear, don't worry, I believe I have a solution." Rarity soothed, then looked around.
She walked towards the wall, then broke off a sharp rock. Holding it up, Rarity closed her eyes and sawed off most of her hair, until only a little was left. Rarity then pulled out her wand and waved it, floating her hair over and attatching it to the mermaid's head.
"Oh Rarity, your beautiful hair." Twilight sighed, and Rarity felt it
"It's not so bad darling, besides, short hair is in this season." Rarity answered
"She says thank you, and for your generosity she'll help us cross the river." Flutterhsy reported as the mermaid screeched.
They all graciously thanked the mermaid as she caused rocks to rise from the bottom of the river, and they easily jumped across.
"Whoo! what's next?" Pinkie cheered after they were a little ways away, then nearly fell down a cliff as Applejack grabbed her.
"How will we get across?" Twilight asked, gesturing to a bridge that was hanging off the edge of the other side of the canyon.
"I happen to be a master of Par-kour, watch this." Rainbow said.
Pulling out her wand for an extra precaution, Rainbow backed up. She took a running leap and flung herself off the cliff, grabbing onto the rock ceiling and swinging herself across. Rainbow hit the ground, then yelped as her ankle hit the ground hard, and twisted
"Are you okay?!" Fluttershy called
"Yeah, fine, I'll have that bridge over there in a minute!" Rainbow yelled back, wincing.
"Rainbow..." a voice called, and three people emerged from the fog in front of her. The fog suddenly covered Rainbow's view of her friends.
"Who are you?" Rainbow asked
"We are here to give you all you wanted. you don't have to be on that lame new flight team, you can be on ours, and have the best friends you'll ever need." the woman at the front said
"How do you know about the Wonderbolts?" Rainbow asked
"We are the first flight team, the Shadowbolts. Come join us, Rainbow Dash, and you could even be the captain." the second woman said
"No. Spitfire deserves to be the captain, and you aren't real. If you were, how come no one's heard of you? Besides, I'm always gonna stick with my friends over some made-up flight team." Rainbow retorted.
They growled, and backed away into the fog. Rainbow didn't see as she turned to levitate the bridge to her friends, but the Shadowbolts turned to blue smoke and disappeared. Twilight ran across first and smiled
"We heard everything you told them, thank you." Twilight said, giving her a hug.
They continued, finding a blue smoke creature curled in the shadows.
"Who are you?" Twilight asked, and the creature turned.

The creature stood to reveal it was a woman, with flowing midnight black hair and black armor.
"Now it is time for me to take over the school. and all of the world will be shrouded in eternal night!" Nightmare Moon yelled

K, so she looks like this.
"What? we can't let you do that!" Twilight said
"What will you do to stop me?" Nightmare Moon cackled
"Anything we can!" Rainbow shouted, and Twilight nodded
"We'll stand together as friends, for united, we will overcome you! we are Honest, Kind, Laughing, Generous, and Loyal!" Twilight shouted, and they all held hands.
There was suddenly a strange, glowing rainbow light, it shone around the girls and swirled in between them, making necklaces and a crown appear. Rainbow gaped as a golden necklace with a lightning-shaped red gem appeared around her neck. She closed her eyes and went with it.
"Noo!" Nightmare Moon shrieked.
They were suddenly lifted off the ground and fell through the ceiling, the rainbow light fading as they hit the ground. Rainbow opened her eyes and saw they were standing in the entrance hall, which was empty except for them and a woman lying in front of them.
