Nightmare's Terrain Part 1

Rainbow was fast asleep, when she heard a voice calling her name. Rainbow sat up in bed and looked around

"Hello? who's there?" she asked

"We've been watching you, we think we can give you what you want. Always wishing, hoping, for a chance to see her again. All i ask is for your assistance. I need fuel." the voice said, and Rainbow pulled her legs up to her chest

"I-I do want mom back, b-but I'm sorry, I'll never agree. Mom's gone, and she's never coming back."

Rainbow laid down and pulled the covers over her head. She didn't get up again until morning. When she realized it had been a dream. Daring woke, yawning, and looked over at her sister.

"Hey Rainbow, morning." she said, and Rainbow sat up.

"O-oh, it's just you." Rainbow sighed, and Blaze, who was passing, rolled her eyes.

"Well who else would it be?" Blaze joked

"I had a bad dream last night." Rainbow explained, as they got ready for classes.

When they went down the stone steps to the common room, they found Soarin waiting as usual.

"Hey guys. Rainbow, you look like you haven't slept." Soarin said, and Rainbow yawned.

"I haven't, I had a nightmare." Rainbow yawned, and Soarin draped his arm over her shoulders.

"You can lean on me if you want." Soarin suggested, and she smiled

"Thanks Soarin." she said shyly. 

It seemed that Rainbow was not the only one to have a sleepless night. During break, Applejack, Pinkie, and Fluttershy of Hufflepuff and Rarity, Starlight, and Twilight of Ravenclaw came to talk with them. Over the past few weeks, the six girls had grown close to Rainbow and the others. 

"Hey ya-ah-" Applejack broke off, yawning

"Applejack, darling, at least cover you mouth if you aren't going to excuse yourself." Rarity commented

"Sorry, I didn't get much sleep last nigh'" Applejack explained

"Strange, I didn't get my normal rem cycle either." Twilight said, and Rarity nodded

"I also didn't get my beauty sleep last night." Rarity agreed

"I even went to bed early, but I was kept up with this terrible-" as Fluttershy said the last word, Rainbow, Pinkie, Applejack, Twilight, and Rarity said the same thing

"Nightmare!" the all exclaimed

"Okay, that's weird, you all had nightmares on the same night?" Spitfire asked

"I wonder if this is the strange astro-physical phenomenon described in chapter 25 of 'A Mother Nature Miracle'." Twilight pondered, and Fleetfoot rolled her eyes

"Don't know what you're talking about, but I'm pretty sure it'th not that." She said   

"Maybe we should-" Fluttershy was cut off as Pinkie cut in

"Go get some cupcakes from the kitchens!"

"What?" Applejack asked

"I figured out how to get into the kitchens, and guess what? they just give the food away! you can ask them for anything, and they give it to you!" Pinkie giggled

"Okay, snack raid from the kitchens later, figure out why six people had nightmares on the same night first." Daring told Pinkie, who nodded.

"We should go tell Professor Potter, he's seen some weird stuff, and he isn't head of any house, so he won't have bias." Twilight reasoned, and they all agreed it was the best thing.

They knocked gently on the Professor's office door a few minutes later.

"Um, Professor, we were wondering if we could talk to you about something?" Twilight asked hesitantly, and the door opened, revealing Professor Potter standing beside Professor Weasley. 

"Miss Sparkle, what are you and your friends wanting to ask me?" Professor Potter asked

"See, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Fluttershy, and I all had nightmares last night." Twilight explained, "and there was a strange voice in mine."

"Mine too." they all echoed

"This is strange, come with me." Professor Potter said, leading them down a hall.

"Where are we going Professor?" Rainbow asked

"To the Headmistress." Professor Potter explained, and they came up to a door guarded by a statue. "Solar Eclipse."

As Professor Potter said this to the statue, it leapt magically to the side and a door opened. revealing a moving staircase.

"You six that had nightmares, come with me, the rest of you, I understand your concern, but wait down here with Gin-Professor Weasley." Professor Potter instructed, stepping onto the stairs.

The six girls followed him, and then were told to wait outside the doors to Professor Celestia's office, while Professor Potter spoke to her.

"Ooh, what's this!" Pinkie said, pushing on a brick in a wall.

"It's a brick Pink-ee!"

Twilight's sensible words turned into a scream as the floor opened underneath them and they fell into a slide. The girls screamed and clung onto those nearest them as they zoomed off to who knows where.
