Molly's POV
"Did you get your money?" Felix asks, looking up at me.
"Yeah," I answer, clutching the five twenty dollar bills in my palm tightly. "What'd you want to talk about?"
"I just wanted to thank you for letting me help," he says, smiling at me, "My mom is amazing. She's raised me all on her own while also working on the force full time ever since I was seven or eight. But she doesn't understand. She's so overprotective with me. After what happened with my dad, we both got filled with this need to get justice. She gets to help people for a living, but she flips if I even look at a case file. She isn't happy that I know the super: you. So, uh thank you for letting me help. It means the world, Molly."
"I can see her point," I admit, sitting down beside him on the stack of crates, "There's something genuinely wrong with these people working for Tremor. They aren't themselves anymore. They're like hollow shells of themselves that just mindlessly do what Tremor wants. The world's a fucked up place. I wish I didn't have to be in the dirt. But still, you're welcome." I flash him a small smile. A few silent minutes pass between us.
"Can I say something without you getting mad at me?" Felix questions, making me nervous.
"I don't know. What is it?" I reply, unsure of where this conversation is headed.
"I don't think what happened to your sister is really your fault, Molly," Felix starts, making my stomach turn, "She was the one who kept pushing you to give her what she wanted. Besides, you don't know if she was on anything else on the time. I would've done the same thing if I was in your place."
"I need to get home," I declare, getting up quickly, my heart racing, "We have school tomorrow, and I don't want Luke to try to check on me and me not be there."
"Night Molly," Felix says simply, "I'll see you in class tomorrow."
"Bye Felix," I reply, "and thank you." He stays quiet as I quickly rush away from him and back to the apartment.

"Why are you still up, Molly?" Luke mumbles, rubbing his eyes. I hide my hands behind my back, not wanting him to see the money I was currently trying to plant for him.
"I can't find my earbuds," I lie, "I like to listen to music when I sleep, and I thought I might've left them out here."
"Did you find them?" He asks, stumbling over to the refrigerator. He grabs a water bottle out.
"No, not yet. I'm gonna check my jacket too though," I say, nodding over to where our jackets are hanging by the door.
"Well good luck," Luke wishes, "and seriously, go the fuck to sleep, Molly. You're gonna be in a pissy mood when you get up tomorrow for school if you don't get some sleep." He flashes me a grin.
"Fuck off," I laugh, smiling at him. Luke flips me off and walks back to his room. I wait a few minutes then rush over to the jackets. I shove two twenties in his jacket pocket. I then go over to the money jar in the kitchen and place another twenty in there. I keep the last two with me, deciding I'll plant them in a pair of his jeans and his wallet tomorrow morning when he's in the shower. I climb into bed with a smile on my face and fall into a dreamless sleep.
