Molly's POV

I take off running as soon as Luke's back is to me, anger pumping through my veins. Killing Felix was bad enough. Tremor needs to stay the fuck away from my family. I turn left and sprint at the fire escape. I jump up and start climbing. Poor Luke is clueless when it comes to directions. He was so close to home. I sigh to myself and climb through my window. I close and lock it then quickly strip out of my Psyche clothes, pulling on flannel shorts and a tank top. I grab my phone and rush out to the living room, leaping onto the couch. I lay back, covering my legs with a blanket. Two minutes later, I hear the door knob rattling as Luke unlocks the door.

"Molly?" He yells as the door slams shut. I slowly get up, still pretty embarrassed about our fight. Luke sees me, and his face relaxes. He rushes forward, pulling me into his arms. I bury my head in his chest, clutching the back of his jacket in my fists. Luke holds me close, rubbing my back. "I love you so much, Molly," he kisses the top of my head, "I don't want you to go back to Australia either. I love having you here with me." That's when I lose it. I break down sobbing all over again, getting some serious deja vu from the other night.

"He died Luke," I choke out, "My best friend. Tremor killed him."

"Here," Luke says softly, sitting me on the couch. He goes over to the kitchen and grabs out the ice cream and two spoons. Chocolate chip cookie dough. He comes back over and sits down beside me. He places the items on the coffee table then pulls me back into his arms.

"What was his name?" My brother asks gently, pulling the blanket over me again. I reach for the ice cream and a spoon.

I shovel a bite into my mouth before saying, "Felix. The chief of police is his mum."

"What was he like?"

I sniffle and eat another bite of ice cream, "Annoying. He was such a pain in the ass. But he was pretty cool too. He was into superheroes. He just wanted to help Psyche. He loved her."

"She is pretty cool," Luke agrees. I panic for a second. Does he know? "But she knows what she's doing." Ha.

"Molly, will you promise me to not get involved in all of this Psyche/ Tremor bullshit? If you see anything that looks like trouble, run the other way." I stare at him confused. Does he know or not?

Luke smiles down at me, "I know you. I wouldn't be surprised if you tried to take Psyche's job and rush Tremor to try to get revenge for Felix. Please don't do that. I'll never forgive myself if anything happens to you."

"I promise Luke," I lie, crossing my fingers under the blanket. "Do you think I'm cursed?"

My older brother laughs, "Not at all. I think that bad shit happens to good people."

"I must be a fucking saint," I joke, making Luke snort.

"Hey! You're not supposed to be cursing. Mum will kill me."

"Then you should stop being a bad influence." He laughs and messes up my hair. I sigh and close my eyes, exhausted. I feel myself slowly start to drift to sleep.

"Goodnight Molls," Luke whispers. I smile softly then fall asleep.

Luke's POV

After about ten minutes of Molly being asleep on me, I get exhausted and decide it's time we both head to bed. I push her off my lap and onto the couch. I put the ice cream in the freezer and spoons with the dirty dishes. I make sure that front door is locked, then move back over to the couch. I scoop my little sister up in my arms and move to her room. I carefully lay her on her bed and make sure the window is locked.

As I'm leaving her room, I accidentally kick a black hoodie laying on the floor. I pick it up and two fifties and three twenties spill out of the pocket. My stomach drops as I turn and look at my little sister peacefully sleeping.

I bite my lip and put the money back in the pocket. I can't bring this up to her right now. After this whole thing with Felix and our fight earlier, she just needs a break. I sigh to myself and leave her room, turning the light off as I go.
