(Jane's POV)
It was the next morning, and I knew I had to tell her today. We got up and started getting ready for the day like we usually did when she stayed the night. We hung out for about an hour or two, then I decided I needed to tell her now. I was shaking so much, not only because I was afraid of rejection, but because I knew I was going to hurt Mike. "M-max" I trembled, Max had a worried look on her face and asked "what?! What is it Jane?". I didn't know how to say it, because I've never had to do something like this.
You see, with Mike, it just happened. He kissed me a week after we met, and then it just turned into something more. I didn't really have time to think about whether or not I really loved him or not. I didn't even know what love felt like. With Max, I've been thinking about this for months. I'm positive I'm in love with this girl.
"I...I'm in love with you" I said with a shaky voice. She didn't say anything, her face went white. I thought I screwed up, then she finally responded. "I love you too Jane, I've had a crush on you forever, but I never thought you'd feel the same". I didn't know what to say, I just leaned in and kissed her. This lasted for about 10 seconds, it was the best 10 seconds of my life. This was so much different than kissing Mike. "I want to be with you, I am going to leave Mike" I said eagerly.
(Max POV)
I just kissed Jane fucking Hopper. I couldn't believe it, my dream girl. "I want to be with you, I am going to leave Mike" she announced. My heart was racing, I never thought this would happen. She went from completely avoiding me, to confessing her love for me. "I would like that....I would like that a lot" I grinned.
She was planning on telling Mike today. She was scared, she knew it would hurt him. "It wasn't meant to be Jane, and if he can't see that then that's his problem. He needs to get his head out of the clouds. It is going to be okay" I promised. She started to calm down after that, and said she was ready to talk to him.
