(Jane's POV)

I pounded on Max's door, tears streaming down my face. I didn't care who saw, I just needed Max. Billy answered the door, he just looked at me then called out for Max, "Max! That girl is here...." I could tell he was uncomfortable. He walked off, and Max came running to the door. "Jane?" she said while shutting the door behind her. I ran into her arms and she gave me the biggest hug. "We shouldn't talk here, can we go to your place?" she asked, I nodded yes. We began walking back to my place, and I just cried the whole way there while Max held my hand to comfort me.

When we arrived, Johnathan and Will were the only ones home. Johnathan asked me if I was alright, and I told him Mike and I broke up. "If you need anything, let us know" he said. I gave him a nod, then Max and I went to my room. "I'm assuming it didn't go so well" Max sighed. "Max..what's a lesbian?" I asked.

(Max's POV)
"Max..what's a lesbian?" Jane asked, obviously distressed, I didn't think about this. I didn't think about Mike discriminating against the two of us, I didn't want to think about that. "What did he say to you?" I questioned, what she said made my blood boil. "He called me a nasty lesbian and said she never wanted to see me again".

I was disgusted, "a lesbian is a girl who likes other girls, and there is nothing wrong with it, some people think there is though. Don't listen to them though, don't feel guilt about your feelings, Jane. People suck" I reassured her. She wiped her tears, "why?" she whimpered. "I don't know Jane, like I said: people suck" I replied. She nodded her head, then we just laid there on her bed and talked about the future. I asked her if she was going to tell her dad or Joyce and she told me she didn't know how they'd feel. I didn't blame her, I know my parents would freak out if they found out I was dating a girl.
