Chapter 24 (Broken Promises)

Ron's POV

Everyone has been quite for the past few weeks after Harry shut himself into his room. Everyone tried their best to make Harry feel better but everyone failed. And Ron was sick of it, he was sick that he has to see his best friend crying himself to sleep. Everything was just not the same anymore, Hermione became a little distant since she couldn't handle Harry herself which she usually could and Draco was seen by Pansy hyperventilating in his room yesterday which rarely happens. Even though Harry was the one who was suffering, Ron and his friends was deeply affected too and for once in his life Ron thought that Harry was selfish. Selfish that he only thinks that he could face his problems alone, he has friends for Merlin's sake! Harry couldn't just blame himself for what happened it was not his fault. Harry has no reason to lock himself up because he wasn't the one who killed Cedric. Ron's hand slammed on the table which his group of friends excluding Harry and Draco was sitting. Getting everyone's attention he sat up and glared at everyone.

"I'm tired of all of this!" He exclaimed as Blaise tried to calm him down.

"But you know we can't do anything Ronald." Hermione added and rubbed her temples.

"So, we can't just sit here Hermione. Harry has been refusing to go out for weeks, we don't even know what's happening behind his bed's curtain. He might have hurt himself in there, we have to do something at least." Ron complained feeling like he was about to explode.

"I agree with him, we indeed have to help Harry in this situation." Blaise said holding Ron's hand as the red haired finally sat down.

As if a cue Draco went into the room and smiled at his friends, Draco overheard them talking about Harry and for the first time, agreed to Ron's statement.

"Don't worry guys I'll talk to him." Draco announced and walked to Harry's room.

Draco's POV

"Harry love, are you awake?" Draco asked softly but instead of being answered he just paused as his eyes landed on Harry who was staring on a window eyes blankly staring at the sky. Draco hesitated if he should approach the raven haired. When he finally got the courage, he sat besides Harry who flinched at his sudden movement.

No one said anything, Draco just admired Harry's features but looking away the next second not wanting to make his lover uncomfortable. Not wanting to leave Harry's side, Draco just sat there inspecting every inch of Harry's body. Harry's clothes that always hug his muscular body was now loose, his eyes that was always emerald green that Draco always admire become dark and dull, his skin that was tan was now ghostly pale and his lips that was always rosy pink was now chapped and bluish. But what bothered Draco mostly is the cuts that was on Draco's wrist, some of them was still fresh like they were just carve yesterday. Even though Harry wore a long sleeve he still noticed the wounds on Harry's arm peeking out onto the cloth.

"Harry did you make these?" Draco asked as he grabbed Harry's wrist gently looking painfully at the red lines that occupied Harry's wrist. The raven haired flinched from the touch, his eyes that was always blank was now filled with hurt, rejection and many more.

"I-i," Harry uttered and pulled his arms back avoiding Draco's gaze, tears threatening to spill from his eyes.

"Harry please answer me," Draco begged then continued, "You know I don't like you hurting yourself like this. I know that you blame yourself for Cedric's death but it isn't, it's not your fault. It hurts me seeing you suffer Harry, it hurts me that I can't do anything to make you feel better. I hate myself for being so useless when you needed me by your side." Draco's voice cracked as he cried.
