Chapter 13: Double-Crossed

You sat in the forest, literally crying genuine tears. You haven't cried since you lost Miles. You cared about them, you cared about Shadow. You would do anything to get him back and off the hook of the G.U.N. Sonic ran in after you, to help comfort you after that. You sat in sorrow, reget, guilt, eternal sadness. You didn't know what to do. Should you do what you said to them and live your life in loneliness and guilt? Or should you quit G.U.N and apologize? You heard Sonic run up and forced the tears to dry.

"Hey (y/n)" he sighed. You sniffle and look away. "Listen, i'm mad at you to, but you did save my life. And I know you don't wanna do this"

"I don't I never did. I was forced to. I'm sorry" you sigh, standing up. Sonic grabbed your hand and sat you down again.

"Come back and leave G.U.N" Sonic begged. You sigh and look down.

"I can't, you heard me! I want you dead. Never see again! No friends, no love-"

"No life?" Sonic cut you off. "Come on (y/n)! They need you! We need you! To help defeat them and save the world!" Sonic begged once more. You growl and stand.

"I told you, no! I'm not helping anyone but myself!" You yell, running off. Farther into the woods. Sonic growled and ran back to the house. You, on the other hand, kept crying. No matter how many times you tried to push the memories of them away they kept coming back.

"*sniff* why did I accept the mission? Why did I accept them? Why didn't I accept death?" You sigh. You look at your rings and think for a second. You sigh and slowly take the rings off. Once you did you threw them as far away as possible. But they came back and hooked onto your wrist. Once they did G.U.N came out of the bushes and grabbed you.

"Hey! Let me go! I'll scramble you for breakfast! Now I say pit me down right this instant!" You shout at the soldiers. They ignore you and throw you into a magic proof cage. "H-hey! How dare you put me in a cage!" You shout some more. You press the red button on your communicator. "Hey, i'm sorry what I did to you guys! You guys are the best things that happened to me since my horrible past! Now Please. If you still care about me like I care about you, I need help! The G.U.N has captured me! And I don't know why, please, I promise this is not a trap.... you won't believe me, why do I bother asking?" You sigh, pressing the red button again, ending the distress signal.

~At the House

"I say we go help her" Amy smiled bravely, putting a hand in the middle. Rouge sighs and does the same. "Come on boys! We know when a girl is lying! She needs our help" Amy begged. Sonic sighs and puts a hand in the middle. Tails and Knuckles to the same. Shadow stood there, apparently not caring about you.

"Come on Shadow!" Tails said. Shadow groaned and ignored him.

"We all know you still care about (y/n)!" Sonic smirked. Shadow blushed and looked away.

"I do not. I don't need or care about her" Shadow growled. Amy gasped and began to growl as well.

"Shadow The Hedgehog! You know you still care about (y/n)! You can't deny it anymore! So give it up already! Now put your hand in!" Amy shouted. The others looked taken back, but Shadow looked unharmed. He groans and rolls his eyes, placing his hand on top of the pile.

"Ok team, let's go!" Sonic cheered.

~With You at the G.U.N lab

You sat in a cell weakly. Your life rings were taken from you, weakening your condition. Along with all your equipment. A tall broad man walked in front of your cell. Holding up a camera.

~With Shadow and them. A screen appeared in front of Shadow from the communicator.

"Listen up Project Shadow. If you and your friends don't get here and give us your power and Chaos emeralds. She.... shall parish right in front of your eyes" the man evilly chuckled.

"(Y/n)!" Shadow shouted. Everyone turned and gasped.

"Should we?" Tails asked, looking to Sonic for an answer. Sonic sighed and thought for a moment.

"But she can't die, remember?" Sonic folded his arms.

"The rings! They weren't on her wrists. Didn't your two sag if you didn't have tgose on you would die?" Rouge put a hand on her hip. Everyone else gasped, even Shadow did.

"We're doing it! To save (y/n)!" Shadow shouted.
