The Kings Adeline

10: The northern kingdom is not a home

"Are you excited Adeline to be going home?" Merriam asks as she packs a chest full of gowns and jewels. I think it's been well over 2 months passed since I have been held prisoner here. "I'm going to put my father in the ground." She goes quiet and apart of me feels bad for being so distant to her but I did not want to get attached.

"I wish you a safe travel my queen." She bows and leaves my room and sir James walks in. "Are you about ready your majesty." I stand up and straighten my shoulders and hold my head high. "Yes."

He holds his arm out for me to take but I walk past him and down the hall. Everyone from the kingdom is roaming and watching to see their supposed queen. They had only seen me at the dinner which was a complete shit show as I drank myself to much wine.

I see a familiar man next to the beast awaiting for my arrival. I clear my throat and the beast looks at me. "What are you wearing." He growls and I look down at my outfit. I requested to have the seamstresses make me pants and blouses. The same as what men wear but smaller.

"I will be riding on a horse durning our travels my king. The carriage is far to....rough." I hear a chuckle from the man who I remember as Damon.  The king just glares. "My king shall we get going." Sir James says and I stare at him. I was unaware of him coming.

Merriam was different from why I was being distant, but sir James I don't not trust. He gave me false answers and had lied to me. The reason I know this is because the boy had told me not to drink the tea as it was poisoned from the night I received the letter from my mother.

He had visited me twice more since that first encounter. He mostly ate my un eaten dinners, but when he did answer some of my questions he provided little detail. The second night I had asked him about the tea, he told me it was for me to bed the king.

The boy was the only one I trusted even though he did not talk much, he was the only one to help me. As if he was my guardian angel.

"What are you doing." I hiss as I feel strong arms wrap around my tiny waste and place my on a pitch black horse. "If you would like to ride by horse than you shall with me." I feel my lip curl and my back straight when he comes up behind me.

"I know how to ride a horse my king." I  snarl out of resentment. "Do you think you have a choice." The horse starts to walk and I'm pushed back into his chest. Heat has not come to me ever since I stoped drinking the tea and I could sense sir James was becoming suspicious. "We are going to my kingdom to burry my father, that you have killed." I feel my body start to shake until a warm hand touches beyond my neck. I immediately calm down and my eye brow furrow.

"What did you..." He cuts me off. "Do you really think I can't notice the purple rings around your eyes or the fact that you haven't been eating nor sleeping. If I didn't know any better I'd think you're trying to kill yourself." I shut up and sit back up so I am no longer leaning against him. "We are one Adeline, my wolf feeds off of you and we can feel you becoming weaker by the day." I couldn't deny anything he said, I was weakening by the day. I think about what my mother said but I couldn't trust anyone in this horrid castle.

Sleep wants to so badly take over my body. Black dots even start to appear but I try to ignore them. My head feels like it had a hundred books stacked on top of it and I'm trying to keep it balanced.

"When will we stop." I ask the beast. "Were not." I almost past out just by hearing those 2 words. My body couldn't take it anymore, no matter how hard I'm trying to fight it. So I close my eyes and I was no longer apart of the real world.

"Look mama the it's the queen!" I look over to the sound of a small girl pointing towards me. I walk over to her and notice strangely how the small girl and her mother have wings.
