Caroline's POV
I watched Aiden intently as he paced around the room. I knew he was just thinking about what to teach me next, but my eyes couldn't help but to trail him. When he faced away from me I could see his shoulder blades pushing at his shirt, call me crazy but shoulder blades are just as attractive as a jaw line. Which he also has. His legs moved him around swiftly, a grace I lacked. You could see the subtle lines of his muscles moving. He turned towards me, and gave a sly smirk when he caught me staring.
"What's got you so captivated?" He asked, taking a step towards me.
"How slow your thought process is," I retorted.
"I hate to break it to you, Lovey, but my thought process is a bit higher than where you were looking."
I felt my cheeks flare and I avoided his eyes. He stalked towards me and put a finger under my chin and pulled it up. I tried to look at the wall behind him.
"Look at me," He said, "Please."
I looked to him and he gave me a dimpled smile.
"Never feel ashamed of your emotions."
His eyes lowered, then came back to mine.
I stepped forward, my leg almost behind him. He looked nervous, until I pulled my leg and sent him tumbling.
"Ha!" I shrieked in excitement at finally getting him down, "Never give your opponent the upper hand, if you show humanity or sympathy, they will cut you down."
I added the last part in with a crappy British accent, mocking his words. He shot me a look of confusion, and sent me a pout. He held out is hand and as soon as I grabbed it, he pulled me down, and was on top of me.
"Whats number one?" He said, his voice huffing, a touch deeper from my attack.
"Never assume the future can't change." I groaned.
"Theres my girl,"
He looked at me for a moment and as he started to lower his head, I closed my eyes. I could feel is breath a mere inch from me- until a phone rang obnoxiously. Aiden looked over to his phone, his face changed and he went to retrieve it.
"Is everything alright?" He answered.
A mumble came from the other side.
"I know I was supposed to call-" He said, a change in his voice.
"I-i know but stuff has been going on and-"
"Would you please just-" His voice sounding light.
"But I-"
"Fine, I'm sorry." He said, sounding almost like a kid. "I really didn't mean to I was- What? Why does it have to be a girl? Hey! I'm a delight."
I let out a laugh at his constant defensive switch. His eyes snapped to me, and softened, a small grin taking his features. He seemed content with whatever was being said.
"Yeah I guess you're right," He said lightly in response to what she was saying, "Wait what? I'm to supposed to come until July tenth?"
Another mumbled.
"Is it really almost here already?" He said, "I know I promised Billie, but I can't leave-"
He turned from me and dropped his voice to a whisper like it was a secret.
"I can't leave her here alone."
My toes curled and my face colored.
"I haven't even know her a year, what makes you think she would want to-," He stopped, "Fine, wait a second."
