Leo's POV
I had scanned the room before I ever sat down. I made sure to know where the emergency exits were, in case something went wrong. His eyes had turned black. It was only for a second, but I know what I saw. Questions have been flooding my mind ever since.
Is that why she couldn't stay away from him?
Did he come here for her?
Did he turn her into that?
Is he one of the people after her?
When he sat down across from me, sitting down a couple glasses, all of those questions faded away and one remained.
"What do you want with Caroline?" I blurted.
He sat back and studied me for a minute.
"I don't know." He said with a shrug.
Annoyance perked in the back of my head.
"You don't know?" I repeated, less convinced than he was.
"Listen from what I know of Caroline," He said, "She's intriguing, you can't help but be drawn to her."
"You don't know anything about her."
"Is that why you don't like me?" He asked, "You're jealous?"
"I am not jealous of you." I growled.
"How long have you loved her?"
"I don't," I said quickly, too quickly, "Not like that."
"I'm sure," he said with a chuckle.
"Why couldn't she stay away from you?" I asked and for a moment there was something behind his eyes. Just a flash, then it was gone.
"I don't know."
"Stop saying that." I said loudly, and then looked down at the table to avoid the stares of customers.
"It's the truth, Leo." He said, his accent heavy, "I don't know what the hell it is. But her side lessened. She didn't seem as desperate to get to me as I was to her."
"Maybe she just doesn't want you." I said with a smirk.
"Trust me, Mate, that isn't the problem."
My smile dropped.
"What is she?"
He suddenly seemed angry.
"She is the same girl she always has been. The only difference is that now you see what you didn't before."
"Did you make her what she is?"
"Are you fucking kidding?" He asked, "Leo, she has always been a witch, I didn't do shit."
"She would'e told me."
"You fucking wanker she didn't know."
"What?"
