Caroline's POV

Aiden had been avoiding me for weeks. Making phone calls, running off, anything he could do to get away from me. Not this time. When he walked outside to start his run, I followed him.

"Aiden," I called, "Can I talk to you?"

"Sure," He said, and I could almost hear the uncertainty roll off of his tongue.

"Have you been, you know avoiding me?"

"No," He said and turned to walk away.

"Aiden," I said, my voice quiet and sad, "please just tell me whats going on."

He turned, and I could see the furrow between his eyebrows.

"The things you said,"

"While I was under his control?"

"It still had to be you. At least a part of you."

"How can you say that?" I asked, "She was not me, I had no choice."

"He had to have built up from something."

"No, he did not. He chose what I did, what I said, and it isn't fair for you to turn it on me."

"And what do you think it was like for us?"

"I never said it was easy for you! What is happening with you?"

"I'm just upset that you aren't who I thought you were."

"What the fuck? What makes you think that is okay?"

"Take a second to think about what you did. What you said."

"You are a fucking asshole."

"And you are selfish. You're no better than Beatrice."

Aiden's POV

"And you are selfish. You're no better than Beatrice."

As soon as the words left my mouth I regretted them. Of course I didn't mean it. I love her.

I love her.

Im just thinking about everything that happened and its hard to separate Caroline from Her.

"Caroline," I reached out to her when I saw the hurt spread across her face, "Caroline, I didn't mean that."

"Don't touch me," She growled, her eyes shifting as her magic stirred.

"Caroline, please," I begged, trying to back track.

"No." She growled.

She turned to walk towards the house.

She slammed the door opened and I followed her suit.

A flabbergasted Leo sat at the table, and his eyes turned from her to me.

"Caroline, please don't do this."

Her walking froze and my stomach dropped. When she turned the fury on her face turned her into someone new. It wasn't the sweet girl I loved. It was a witch who had been angered.

Gold sparks traveled across her eyes as she growled at me.

"I. Did. Not. Do. Anything." She spat at me, "You fucking Bastard. You have no right to speak to me. We are done. Get away from me."

Anger stirred through me as the warlock instincts kicked in.

"Fine." I growled and walked out to my car and left.

No One's POV

"Don't give up on him." Was the sentence infecting the house. Everyone was whispering in Caroline's ear, telling her what they thought. Now she sat in the bath, the water went cold long ago, letting the thoughts stir in her head. She thought of her mother, and wished she were here.

Danger was stirring in the stale air.

Don't forget the little witch

Who had the power to turn

The light to dark

And leave the world to burn

With a death

She'll be free

To reap the world away

Don't forget what you see

She'll be there to haunt you another day
