you sat at the doorstep of your house, leaning your head against your knees as you sighed in disappointment.
you thought the day couldn't get any worse when it started to rain heavily.
you had went for your SEVENTH job interview and yet you had not passed any.
besides that, you had came home to realise that you had left your keys inside the house, so you basically locked yourself out.
your spirits were extremely low.
how hopeless could you possibly get?
"what a terrible day." you muttered to yourself.
you groaned as the rain hit you hard, drenching you to the core.
*cue drumroll*
and you were hit by yet another unlucky incident.
the clothes you were wearing were WHITE.
now anyone who walked passed could basically see you half-naked, considering the hot pink sports bra you had chose to wear.
you felt like screaming your lungs out in exasperation.
but you resisted the temptation as your sulky old neighbours would probably call the cops saying that you went mad.
suddenly, you felt the rain stop pouring on you, but to your extreme puzzlement, you could still hear the pitter-patter of the rain on the concrete ground.
maybe you were too tired till your mind was playing tricks on you.
"well, fuck my life. might as well sit here and die of hypothermia, although i'm not sure if i would get hypothermia, well i truly wish i do." you rambled, intentionally cursing yourself as you shivered uncontrollably.
"its not good to curse you know." a voice chuckled, making you jerk your head up, clearly startled.
you swore you felt the heat rise to your cheeks when you saw the handsome boy who was standing in front of you, holding an umbrella on top of your head.
it was smokin' hot and sexy Lim Jaebeom.
you struggled, wrapping your arms around yourself as you felt yourself turn as red as a lobster.
HE was practically staring at your half-naked self.
and HE wasn't just somebody,
HE was your CRUSH.
here you go again, yet another unlucky situation although you weren't that disappointed to see him.
"here." he offered kindly, removing his leather jacket as he wrapped it around your small figure gently.
"i- thank you.." you mumbled, letting yourself enjoy the comfort and warmth of his jacket,
which by the way, smelled so nicely of him.
"i don't think you plan to sit here until the rain stops right?" the boy asked, his lips pulling into a teasing smile.
you wanted to tell him that you planned to sleep here, right outside your doorstep.
but not wanting to sound weird, you lied, "my brother- uh forgot to give me back my house keys."
you smiled sheepishly, feeling so guilty that you lied to him yet not remorseful at all for framing your all-too-arrogant older brother.
"ah- i see, your brother must be a really forgetful person." jaebeom smiled knowingly.
you nodded your head as you flashed him a tight smile.
"you can come to my house for the moment." jaebeom said smoothly, raising out a hand to you.
of course you agreed because who wouldn't rather stay over at their crush's house instead of sitting in the rain.
grabbing his hand, he pulled you up easily as if you were as light as a feather (which you doubted)
you cleared your throat awkwardly as he pulled you closer to him, placing an arm around your shoulders as both of you paddled through the rain.
noticing your slight discomfort, jaebeom stopped halfway, letting his arm hover over your shoulder as he asked, "are you alright with it?"
"yea- sure." you nodded, trying to stay calm but failing.
"don't worry, we're reaching soon." he said, causing you to merely hum in response.
you heaved a sigh of relief when both of you reached his house.
as jaebeom closed the umbrella, you realised that his left arm was completely soaked.
you gulped, he must have sheltered you too much with the umbrella.
"jaebeom, i'm sorry- your shoulder-" you apologised, using your hand to wipe off the water on his left arm lamely.
"its okay." jaebeom chuckled, grabbing your wrist gently.
you felt like centuries had past as you stared into his eyes.
coughing, you averted your eyes from him, mumbling, "uh lets go in."
just as you were thinking about how the day was slowly getting better, a familiar figure walked out of one of jaebeom's rooms, staring at both of you in awe.
oh shit.
"oh jaebeom? you are back? did you get the chips- little sister? what are you doing here?" jackson asked, tone skeptical.
"little sister?" jaebeom repeated slowly, trying to process everything.
"yea, the girl you're sitting next to is my baby sister. wait- are both of you dating?" jackson asked wearily, pointing an accusing finger at you.
"no-no." you denied, the tip of your ears turning a dark red.
"but both of you look so different, you're so ugly while your sister is simply gorgeous." jaebeom laughed as jackson threw a cushion at him.
you swore you looked even redder than the colour 'red'.
you were going to kill jackson for not telling you that he was good friends with jaebeom.
"oh anyways, shouldn't you return (y/n) her house keys?" jaebeom ordered jackson.
oh no.
