I look out of my window at the passing street. I never know what goes on in the houses around me yet I feel safe here.Justin's car made its way up my drive way and I gradually move towards my bedroom door. I have a lot of explaining to do.
When I make my way down to the bottom floor everyone was already in and ogling at my aunt.
"Where's the girls?" I whisper to Lauren.
"Once i smelt the weed I sent them strait up to their rooms not wanting them to be exposed to this more" I smile at Lauren's words. All my friends are like big siblings to the girls, in fact when we're out they always refer to them as their sisters.
"Well is there a party or what?" Lucy grunts.
"No it's just us" Justin answers truthfully. I can see he is moments away from blowing up.
No moved an inch, not even blinked "What are you doing here, Lucy?" Molly demands.
"Jesus, do I have to have a reason to stay in my own home" Lucy's voice rises.
I hated how she called this home. Not to long ago a happy family lived comfortably here, a mother, a father and their three children.
"Now if you excuse me I'm going to talk to the girls" She adjusts herself off the sofa so she was standing up strait but she still wobbled crookedly. There was no way I was leaving the girls in a room alone with her.
"You're not going anywhere near them" I say determinedly. I step in front of the stairs but even with me in the way she still wanted to bulldoze any thing and everything in her path.
She goes to push me and from experience I know it won't be a light push but a rough shove but Justin grabs her hand "You can talk to the girls but down here where they will be kept an eye on by us" I still didn't like the plan, I don't like any plan that involves talking to her, but I guess it's the only option we have.
"Also clean up this mess" Corey points to the array of cans and bags sprawled out everywhere "I'm seconds away from showing off what I had for breakfast and lunch"
Everyone made a sour face "Serious Corey" I groan.
********
The mess had been cleaned and disposed of now Lauren and I are in the kitchen making dinner whilst everyone else watched the girls from a distance.
"Go and lie down I've got dinner" Lauren swats me away like I was some sort of irritating fly.
"I'm fine" I tell her for the millionth time.
Mel walks in looking a bit frazzled "Hey Mellie, What do you want me to make for desert?" Lauren was a good baker something she wants to pursue as a career.
"I don't mind"
Wow. I wasn't expecting that. Normally Mel would be jumping at the chance of being able to have first pick before her Margo.
She looks glum as she leans on her palm on the counter "Hey what's up?" I say soothingly.
"She's gonna make our lives miserable now with what's going on, isn't she?" Mel's soft eyes gazed into mine for answers.
"What do you mean what's going on?" I question.
Mel opens her mouth to say something but a shout comes from the living room "Hey Mel we need you" It was Margo's voice, it had a hint of uneasiness to it and I almost ran into there myself but I know if anything bad had happened the others would come and tell me, Margo is probably uncomfortable being left alone with her possibly high aunt.
