"At least I can do is pay for the tip I don't like when people pay for me it makes me feel poor, I mean I am poor but I don't like for people to think I am" Normani chuckled after biting into a chicken wing.
"I don't think you're poor" she covers her mouth. "Poor compare to you" she frowns "you know I'm not just some rich girl"
I nodded as someone took another picture of us for the fifth time since we sat down. She sighs "I know, I know you're more than that" she looks at me as if she was surprised by my statement.
"I am"
"Ok so tell me about yourself."
"what do you want to know?" I shrugged "anything"
"Um well, I'm from Huston Tex-"
"I know that stuff about you my friend is a huge 'fan' of you she tells my roommate and me everything about you. Tell me something no one knows...if that's ok with you"
She bites her lips wiping her hands with a napkin. "Um well I just want you to know that I'm not a gold digger, I don't go around using people for their money I promise"
"I believe you"
"Really? Because I've been getting so much hate lately because of the divorce. I'm starting to believe getting cheated on is my fault" she bites her lips looking down at her foot.
"She cheated on you?" She nods "I'm sorry about that" she shakes her head "no need to say sorry. It's not like you did anything" she looks around the room, there was a moment of silence before I decided to say something.
"She's stupid for cheating on you"
I grabbed her attention "you shouldn't blame yourself for that, I don't know anything about you or how you were in the relationship but no one deserves to get cheated on.....you're very beautiful and you deserve so much better, and you will get better" she smiles looking away from me as if she was blushing.
"Do you really think so? I'm not really looking for a relationship of anything right now." I shrugged "doesn't mean there isn't someone who would treat you better" I sipped on my ice tea "You're the first to tell me that"
"Really?" She nods "well in person...My family loved Dinah, and when we broke up they kinda blamed it on me, and my best friend she really could care less about the breakup. She sucks and comforting. So yeah you are indeed the first person to tell me that I deserved better" her phone rings on the table. "Speaking of the devil" she shows me the screen which showed a picture of Lauren. "Are you going to answer?"
"Nope, Do you want to get out of here?" I nodded we both stood up. She digs in her purse but I quickly place $8 on the table. "I said I was paying for the tip" she laughs as we walked out the restaurant. But then we noticed that there were about 20 people standing outside. She quickly backs away grabbing on to my hand. I looked down at it and then back to her as she pulls me to the back of the restaurant. The employees understanding let us go out that way.
"I'm not rude ok I just don't want to take any pictures or get yelled at...I need a break you know" I nodded. "I understand I won't judge you" she smiles "thank you....fuck come on!" She pulls me as we both took off running due to the fact that her fans were coming to the back of the building.
I was amazed at how fast she could run in heels, I would bust my ass by just standing in them. Well, I never wore heels before but I'm pretty clumsy.
We kept running even though no one was following us until we made it to an arcade. "Wanna go in?" She asks "Sure"
We walked inside.
It was a Monday so no one was hardly here, which was good for her and for me because I get anxiety around a bunch of people.
"I never ran away from my fans before, I didn't think anyone would know me here" she chuckles still trying to catch her breath as we walked around the room.
"That was fun" I chuckled moving a piece of hair from my face. "I mean I don't enjoy running but I never saw myself running away from some fans" I sighed into my pocket grabbing my wallet paying for the tokens which were $20.
"I could've paid" I shrugged "but I did" she laughs as I handed her the cup filled with tokens.
"Tell me something about you y/n?" I huffed "Uh what do you want to know?"
"Anything really....you're not a celebrity and my best friend don't know you to tell me everything about you" she copies me making me chuckled. "Uh I'm 22 I live with 2 of my best friends Ally who you haven't met yet and Camila"
"Yet? Are you planning on introducing me to your other best friend?" She raises an eyebrow "I'm pretty sure you'll bump into her one day."
"I mean yeah....we are friends of course"
"Friends?" I asked "yeah, if you want to be" we stared at each other I nodded. "We can be friends" I turned away as I put a token in the game making the basketballs fall down. "Wanna play?"
"Yes, I love basketball!"
"You do?" She nods yep as threw the basket making it go through the hoop. "I used to play it all the time back in high school, along with dancing and singing"
"I bet you went to a great school was it private?" I threw the ball which it went through as well. "Yes, all my life I went to preppy private schools, with the ugly ass plaid skirts" we both laughed. "I went to one in elementary school but then I started going to a public one"
"Why?"
"Because I didn't fit in with the kids there. And I felt uncomfortable so I told my parents and they transferred me to a public" I lied.
"I wish my parents were that understanding. Everything they said goes. I hated school that's why when I got old enough I dropped out"
"I thought you graduated? There were pictures everywhere" she nods "I lied, I figured what's the point of high school. I'm not going to use any of the shit they give me. Plus I'm rich of course I'm not going to use any of it because I already knew what I wanted to do and that was selling makeup....well I always wanted to be a singer but I don't think anyone would like my music." I hummed shooting the ball again.
"I understand where you're coming from kinda".......
