We pull up to Dairy Queen and we all hop out of the car. Except Allie. She just sits there staring out the window. Her eyes now a stormy blue.
"Allie you ok?" I ask walking around to her side of the car. I open the door and kneel down to meet her eyes. I put my hands on her knees.
She hesitates and finally looks down at me.
"I think so. Its just, I feel like I know you." She says. Her eyes now a soft hazel.
"You do. We have known each other 4 years." I say. I feel the same way. I don't want to be awkward though.
"That's not what I mean... Like there's something more... Whatever. Let's go get food." She says. I back up from her and stand up. I hold my hand out and she takes it. As she stands up she hits her head on the car. I chuckle.
"Hey!" She says rubbing her head. As we walk up to the counter she wraps her arms around mine.
"Hello, how may I help you?" The hyper cashier asks.
"Can I get a large Oreo blizzard and a large fry." Allie orders. The cashier nods and starts pressing buttons on her cashier. Allie looks up at me and smiles. I smile back.
This girl is amazing. That's exactly what I was gonna order. I'm stunned.
" Uh, I'll get the same." I say. We walk back over to Cassy and Jupiter. They were playing fast hands. I love that game. I remember always slap marks on my hands.
"About time" Jupiter says. "We almost sent out a search team." He jokes.
"What ever." I say sitting down. Allie sits down next to me and reaches for my hand under the table. We had become friends fast, not that I'm complaining.
