As we walk out of the room, Allie reaches for my hand. We walk down the hall. When we reach a dead end we sit down and lean against the wall.
"Does this mean we are dating?" I ask.
Allie looks at me and smiles an evil smile.
"Well no. You never asked me out." Allie says.
"Don't make me do this." I beg. She shakes her head. "Fine. Allie, do you want to go out some time?" I ask. I can feel myself turn a bright red.
Allie leans in, now only inches away.
"Yes" she replies and pulls back. That smile still on her face.
I look down at our hands. Our fingers still intertwined. I begin to doodle little designs with my thumb on the back of her hands.
"That tickles" Allie says giggling. She bites her bottom lip.
"I know." I say. Allie pulls my hand over and looks at my watch.
"Only a few more minutes." Allie warns.
I moan. I did NOT want to go back to class.
"Ok. But after school today, how about we go watch a movie." I ask. Allie nods and leans her head on my shoulder. It felt natural. Even just sitting down, our bodies fit together like a puzzle piece.
And we sit there in silence. I still draw doodles on her hand. We wait wait for the last few minutes of our break.
