Hero

Instead of the sunlight dancing on your skin you woke up cold and with a headache. Your eyes fluttered opened, but soon closed in pain from the burning bright light. 'Where am i?' You thought. You herd a beeping that sounded familiar, 'oh...I'm at the Hospital...damnit, that means it happened again...' you thought.

You looked down to see Atticus resting on your stomach, you smiled and pet him. You looked over and saw a black haired mess sleeping in a chair resting his head on the side of your bed. 'How long has he been here? How long have I been here!?' You thought.

You decided to sit up and that made Atticus move coming up to your face to lick it. "Alright there boy" you laughed, you grabbed his face and put your noses together "thank you boy, when we get home your gonna be rewarded!" You smiled.

"Your awake!" A tired voice came from beside you. You laughed, "I should be saying that to you!" He smiled, "how are you feeling?" Kuroo asked. "I'm fine, but how long have I been out?" You asked. "Well it was only the second class when you passed out, and right now the boy are about to head to practice, so like a few hours." He said.

You cheered, "woohoo! I woke up sooner than last time Atticus!" Kuroo gave you a confused look, "how many times have you been here?" He questioned. "To many to count but that's ok! I'll be discharged in the morning tomorrow!" You smiled.

Kuroo sighed, "hey...(F/N)?" "Yeah?" You said. Kuroo rubbed the back of his neck, "what exactly happened?" He asked. You looked down and started to pet Atticus, "I...went to the bathroom, and...somebody threatened me...I ended up remembering something horrible and..." you started to shake, it was hard for you to talk about it.

Kuroos face saddened, "you dont have to finish I know what happened after that..." Kuroo said. You smiled, "I'm sorry...I've never been able to stand up for myself...I'm not very brave, I'm a sorry excuse for a friend." you said giving a fake chuckle.

"That's not true! I think your a great friend, dont doubt yourself. That's how you bring yourself down and become sad." Kuroo smiled a wide smile. You laughed, "your an idiot!" The both of you laughed. "I wanted to say thank you though.." you said, Kuroo smiled "you wouldn't be thanking me if it wasnt for Atticus, he is the real hero here!" He said patting Atticus on the head. "Yeah? Well I trained Atticus to go find help if that situation happened ever again, but still...thank you"

Soon Kuroo had left to go home so his mom wouldn't freak out cause she thought he was at practice. When he was walking home he called Lev,

"Hello?"

"Hey man"

"Oh hey Kuroo what's up? Why weren't you at practice?"

"It was (F/N) I found her passed out in a storage closet later during second class"

"WHAT!? IS SHE OK??!"

"Damn Lev could you yell any louder?"

"Sorry is she ok though?"

"Yeah if it wasnt for Atticus I dont think anyone would have found her in time"

"Atticus? Did he come and get you?"

"Yeah man it was crazy something right out of a comic book or something, Atticus is a real hero!"

"Yeah he is but what exactly happened? What caused her to pass out?"

"I'm not sure, but man I have to go see ya."

"Bye"

With that Kuroo had turned off his phone, he had lied to Lev about not knowing what happened, but he had to for your sake. He still couldnt shake his mind about your past and your relationship with his dad. 'Maybe that's why she was looking at me so strangely? I'll ask my mom, maybe she knows something about (F/N)s case?'

"Hey mom I'm home!" Kuroo said, "Ah Tetsu your home, get settled then come and eat dinner will be ready soon" Mrs. Kuroo said. "Ok"

"Thanks for the food!" Kuroo said, but he didnt touch his food. "Tetsu...is something the matter?" Him mother asked. Kuroo began, "I went to the Hospital today...skipping school" his mother gasped. "What happened?!" She asked.

"You know that (F/N) girl I invited to dinner tomorrow night?" He asked, she gave him a nod "the one who you constantly talk about" she smirked. "Yeah well, she has an emotional support dog named Atticus and he led me to her unconscious and the school called the Hospital" he said. "Oh my! That's awful, that dog is smart, and son..." she began grabbing his attention "you are probably her hero!"

He shook his head, "no...I wasnt the hero, dad was. He was her hero" Kuroo said. His mother gave him a confused look, "mom do you remember a little girl who was abused by her parents at the age of 9 when I was 10?" He asked.

His moms face saddened, "yes I remember, ah so that's why her name is so familiar!" "Wait so its true?! Dad actually saved her?" Kuroo asked. His mom nodded her head, "yep we were gonna get her a friend which was gonna be you but you dad passed away before he could get the chance. It was a cute story he told me, she drew a picture of him to distract her from all the commotion" she laughed along with Kuroo.

"That's amazing, but she doesnt know he's gone. She also has been having these dreams about him, but can never remember his name." Kuroo said. "Well that's the power of what one person can do without knowing it. By the way did you figure out what caused her to pass out?" His mom asked.

"She told me somebody came in the bathroom and threatened her, probably PTSD that kicked in..." he said. "Who was it? Do you know?" His mother asked. He shook his head, "she was shaking enough i didnt want her break down, so I didnt ask.." Kuroo said clenching his fist.

"It angers you doesn't? Your so much like your father...always helping when you can" His mother smiled, "I'm very proud of you Tetsu...very proud"

The next day of school, and Kuroo didnt see you. He was a little sad but understood, "Hey Kuroo!~" a girls voice came. "Oh...hey Akemi" Kuroo said sadly. "Wanna eat lunch together?!" She said excitedly. Kuroo shook his head, "sorry Akemi, I'm gonna eat somewhere else." He said walking away. She clenched her fist in anger, 'it better not be that bitch!' She thought.

Lunch came around and Kuroo sighed, he started walking up to tree when...

'BARK!!'

Kuroos eyes widened, and saw Atticus being pet by you, "hey! I kinda bailed on you last time you asked to eat lunch together, wanna try again?" You smiled. Kuroo was lost for words, "H-how?" He trailed off. "I checked in late and got some extra sleep, can you believe it they let me go home at 3:00 in the morning! It was ridiculous!" You ranted.

Kuroo smiled, "you idiot!" You stood up and walked over to the tree. "Let's eat! Dont forget to keep track of time!" You laughed. Kuroo smirked...
