Maine pyaar kiya
Chapter 7- A close shave

“Sameer!” Mamiji called out as Sameer and Naina looked at each other with wide eyes.

“Maine kaha tha na. Jaana chahiye. Lekin naii, tum kaha kuch sunne wale hon? Ab?”Naina rambled angry at Sameer for not paying head to her warnings.

“Shhh. Let me think.” Sameer said as he peeked and saw that they were still busy in unpacking the car, so he took the opportunity, held Naina’s hand and made a run for it to his room.

Just as Naina was about to go into the bathroom, Mamiji came in causing Naina to hide behind the bed.

“Voh… Voh ma-Mamiji. A-aap laug kaafi jaldi aaye.” Sameer said and he found himself stuttering.

“Arrey Sonu, itna hakla kyu raha hain? Vaise hum jaldi aaye, kyuki tere mamaji ki tabiyat thodi kharaab hui hain.” Mamiji said.

“Kya Hua mamaji ko?” Sameer asked.

“Bohot saara meetha khaaye na. Toh sugar thodi badd gayi. Tension lene ki baat nai hain. Waise, mujhe voh balm chahiye. Peechle Shanivaar ko jab tere sar mein dard tha, maine tere uss drawer mein balm Rakhi thi. Main abhi leke aati hoon.” Mamiji said pointing to the pedestal drawer.

Oh no! If Mamiji had to go there, she would find Naina there, as Naina was hiding right there.

“Nai Mamiji!” Sameer suddenly exclaimed as Mamiji stopped in her tracks and looked at him weirdly.

“Kya Hua? Chillaya kyu?” Mamiji asked looking at him as if she’s seeing him for the first time.

“Voh.. Voh main. Haan! Main leke aata hoon na.” he said quick.

“Arrey nai beta. Udhar hi toh hain.” She said and was about to go but Sameer came in front of her.

“Nai, voh. Main jaata hoon na.” he said scared if Mamiji saw Naina.

“Sameer.” Mamiji said.

“Ha-haan.”

“Tu kuch chupa raha hain?” She asked.

“Na-nai. Aap aisa kyu soch rahe hain?” He asked

“Toh itna hakla kyu raha hain?”

“Voh Mamiji, Kya hain na. Waha ek chuhiya hain.” He said and he mentally prepared himself for Naina's wrath for calling her a rat.

“Isne mujhe chuhiya kaha. Ab iski khair nai.” Naina said to herself as she narrowed her eyes.

“Sameer, tune bataya kyu nai? Ruk, main rat poison leke aati hoon.” She said.

Rat poison!?

No way!

“Nai! Voh, waha billi hain. Khidki se aayi. Toh… toh voh billi chuhiya ko kha lengi.” Sameer rambled anything that just came in his mind.

“Oh Accha. Toh darne ki Kya baat hain? Main jaake balm le aati hoon.” She said.

“Nai Mamiji, yeh kaali billi hain. Aur aapko pata hain ki kaali billiyaan kaisi hoti hain.” Sameer said.

‘Ab toh tu definitely gaya kaam se.’ Sameer thought to himself.

“Ohh toh main jhaadu le aati hoon. Usse bhagane.” She said and Sameer nodded.

Soon after Mamiji went out, Sameer locked the door and sighed in relief, but the poor guy's relief was short lived, for he saw his dear Chuhiya urf kaali billi urf Naina glaring at him.

She then took the book from his desk and went after him.

“Accha! Pehle main Moti hoon. Phir tumne mujhe chuhiya kaha, aur phir kaali billi.” Naina said as she started hitting him with the book.

“Arrey Naina Devi.”

“Devi!!” Naina screamed in mortification.

“M-Matlab, Naina. Maine yeh sab hum dono ko bachane ke liye kaha. Agar Mamiji waha aati toh?” Sameer said.

“Phir bhi. Tum na!” She said and continued hitting him, but didn’t notice the ends of the mat and the two tripped and fell on Sameer’s bed, with Naina on top of Sameer.

Sameer then kept Naina’s strands of hair to one side and tucked it behind her ear and adored the blush on her face.

“Waise, main yaha poori zindagi aise hi bita sakta hoon.” He said in a husky voice, causing shivers down Naina’s spine.

He then traced his index finger on Naina’s cheek and she closed her eyes at the touch. She felt an unknown feeling in her.

“Waise, as much as I love staying here, Mamiji kabhi bhi aati hongi jhaadu leke.” He said causing her to open her eyes and her cheeks turned crimson at their close proximity and at how she reacted to it.

As Sameer was about to get up, she held his hand and gave a quick kiss on his cheek causing him to widened his eyes in happiness.

“Ab jao. Main tab tak bathroom mein jaati hoon chupne.” She said as he smiled and she went in the bathroom and he opened the door.

“Mamiji, voh billi toh gayi. Anyway, yeh raha balm. Waise, Poonam Bhabi aur Devang Bhaiya kaha hain?” He asked.

“Voh dono kal aarahe hain. Unhe kuch kaam hain. Issi liye hum dono hi akele aaye. Accha main yeh balm leti hoon.” She said and when Sameer saw that the coast was clear, he and Naina quickly went out of the house and the two then sped off to Law Garden.

“Abhi aarahe hon tum dono. Kaha the itni time?” Preeti asked.

“Yaar pooch hi mat. Mamiji ne mujhe almost pakda tha. Kaise bhi karke hum waha se chale aaye.” Naina said.

“Accha yeh sab Chodo aur Chalo, ghar chalte hain. Varna Tayiji hume nai chodengi.” Preeti said and she and Naina want home and the boys dropped Kamya and Hema to their homes and Sameer went home on his bike.

“Arrey abhi aaye tum dono?” Chachiji asked as soon as Preeti and Naina entered the house.

“Haan mummy, bohot maza aaya.” Preeti said and the next minute, she bit her tounge as she realized that Chachaji was the only one who knew about their little day out and everyone else thought that they went for a project.

“Maza aaya? Project banaate time kisko maza aata hain?” Chachiji asked confused.

“Voh Kya hain na-"

“Bela, yeh dono apne doston ke saath thoda  bahar gaye the, maine hi bhabiji se kaha tha ke yeh dono apne college ke kaam se gaye.” Chachaji said as he also entered the house and smiled at his two daughters.

“Bhagwan jooth na bulaye, mujhse toh keh sakti thi na tum dono. Main thodi mana karti.” Chachiji said as she smiled warmly at them and Preeti and Naina smiled amused.

“Dekha behen. Lagta hain, hum mummy ko bhi tere aur Sameer ke baare me bata sakte.” Preeti said.

“Chup kar. Agar Chachiji ne sun liya, toh pata nai Kya karengi mere saath.” Naina whispered back.

“Kaisa raha din?” chachaji asked as he sat down and drank a glass of water.

“Bohot maza aaya. Hum park gaye the, waha humne kitne games khele aur phir hum ‘jijaji’ ke ghar gaye film dekhne.” Preeti said as she whispered jijaji so that no one hears and chachaji smiled at her little antics.

“Waise pata hain, bohot acchi khabar mili.” Chachiji said as she brought a tray of sharbat and sat on the chair next to chachaji.

“Belaaa. Kya acchi khabar? Mujhe bhi toh batao.” Tayiji said as she came in.

“Hmmph, ab yeh acchi khabar bhi buri ban jayengi, aakhir bhabiji aayi hain nazar lagane.” Chachiji muttered as Chachaji heard and coughed to cover up his laughter.

“Arrey bol na. Kya baat hain?” Tayiji asked.

“dou hafte baad, Shanivaar ko Kritika ki shaadi hain.” Chachiji said.

“Accha? Yeh bohot acchi baat hain.” Chachaji said.

“Kritika Didi ki shaadi!” PreeNa shouted together in excitement.

“Oye ladkiyon! Humme se koi nai jayenga. Yaad nai hain, kaise uss din Himesh Bhai ne Parley ke papa se baat ki thi?” Tayiji said as PreeNa immediately got sad and Chachiji gestured them that it’s okay.

“Isme kya acchi khabar? Mujhe laga iss maharani ke liye koi rishta aaya hain.” Tayiji said as she pointed to Naina.

“Arrey bhabiji, Maine kya kaha? Naina ko pehle college khatam karne dijiye.” Chachaji said sternly and Tayiji kept quite as she knew that when it came to Anand Agrawal's daughters, he would do anything.

Tayiji then left and Naina and Preeti looked at chachaji and Chachiji as they really wanted to attend a family wedding.

“Beta, tum dono jaaonge. Kyuki agle hafte bhabiji unke gaaon jaarahi hain. Theek hain?” chachiji said and Preeti and Naina squealed in excitement and hugged their father.
