Maine Pyaar Kiya
Chapter 14: Sparks ignited and magic occurred

The fluorescent coloured lights that hung on the walls of the house, gleamed in the dark, giving he wedding aura to the atmosphere. The stars glittered across the night sky, looking like thousands of diamonds scattered, waiting to be caught by someone. The previous chatter and music filled atmosphere was replaced by the hooting of owls and the chirping of crickets. As scary the sounds may have sounded, they brought a sense of peace to Naina's mind as she stood in the balcony of her room, facing the garden.

Truly, Kritika's parents did spend a lot. She thought as she once again took in her surroundings for the umpteenth time since she actually arrived in Mt Abu. The magnificent hotel plus hall overlooking the glorious gardens filled with species of flowers Naina herself couldn't name. The hall itself was so big that walking from one corner to the next would be a big job in itself and what she appreciated the most was the fact that no other guests were inhabiting the place as the place was exclusively booked for the wedding.

As she looked at nothing in particular, her mind replayed the events of the day. Thinking about all that happened brought a smile on her face and her face immediately turned crimson at how Sameer affected her.

She though back to the feeling in the pit of her stomach and the longing feeling she had in herself, the desire to touch Sameer in a way different to how they touch each other.

Sure they did hold hands and they've hugged many times. But now as she thinks back to those, they felt too friendly and conveyed nothing more. She couldn't pinpoint on the reason behind whatever she felt at that moment.

Did she want to kiss Sameer?

Or rather, did she want Sameer to kiss her?

Why would she be thinking of all this all of a sudden?

Didn't she already make a decision long ago that all stages of intimacy were to be crossed only after marriage?

But wasn't a liplock a taboo before marriage?

Why then did she want to feel Sameer's lips on hers?

All these questions swirled through her mind causing a havoc and she imagined Sameer holding her by the waist as she clutched his shirt by the torso and their lips moulding into one another. Unknowingly, she clutched the balcony's parapet so tight that her knuckles had turned white as an impact.

Shaking her head, she removed such thoughts from her mind but that empty feeling was still bothering her in the pit of the stomach.

Not knowing what else to do, she removed Sameer's picture from the middle of the pages from one of the novels she was reading and looked carefully at the features of the guy.

This was a picture taken just recently and she had made sure she had gotten one copy of that picture as she felt her collection of Sameer's pictures was too small according to her.

His hair was the same as it was in high school, maybe a notch shorter, but that made him look a little more responsible and gave the aura of a caring guy. She then traced her eyes to those of his. They were a normal shade of brown like anyone else's eyes, nothing to go gaga over, yet all she could do was stare at them all day long, as those very eyes are the ones that held a myriad of emotions, so deep that she'd be afraid she'd drown in them. His nose was perfectly contoured. Not too big, neither too small. Even as a high school teenager, Sameer had been quite lean and lacked baby fat, yet his cheeks had shaped into being more prominent with the sharp jawline making an appearance. And then, she couldn't help but jot her eyes to those lips of his. Devoid of any balm or moisturising supplement, his lips were naturally soft. She took a deep intake of breath as she once again imagined those very lips on hers.
