Chapter6 Grey Eyes

Chloe's pov
I'm swirling slowly to the soft music being played. The room is very well illuminated with discolights and almost everyone is on the dance floor. The ladies have their heads on their spouses chest while their spouses are holding them dearly as if their lives depend on each other. Well, they do depend on each other. This scenery could be pretty much good for me too only if I was with someone who cared for me and I cared back. But I guess I'm stuck with Lucas.

He leans closer to me and I try to back away but he lifts my chin and makes me look at him.

"Looks like someone isn't interested in having me around. But trust me, I'd rather be anywhere right now than be here with you."
"If that's the case, why don't you just let me go back to my dad... My family..."
He smirked then looked behind me.
"Don't worry, you are going to see them today.. But that doesn't mean I'm going to let you go."

I tried to turn so that I could at least look at them but Lucas pushed me towards his chest firmly. "You can't see them... Yet.But I have a proposal for you. I need you to get information about the Reens from Liam. He..."

"I'm not doing it Lucas, the last time I tried... I almost died." I hadn't realized I had snapped until majority of the people spot me. Including him. Grey Eyes. I knew it was him because of his intimidating height and his eyes. I could easily spot him anywhere. Even with his mask on."

"That didn't sound like a request. It is a command Chloe. Get to him ask him about the Reens and when they are going to attack next. Find out every single thing you can. Or I can just chop off your head."

The last statement kind of ruled me up. I knew he was not really bluffing and he could easily fulfill his threat. He twirled me around and the next thing I knew we were exchanging partners. Just great. I don't even know what the Reens are. How I'm I supposed to dig information out of Liam.

"Black eyes... We meet again.."

Liam... just great!
No backing out now. I just hope he doesn't kill me with his bare hands.

"Hey..." that's what my brain could come up with at the moment. His eyes were just as intimidating as his height so I looked behind him. I watched as a lady removed her mask and turned around and she looked at me...

"Zoe...?"

"What?" I had forgotten I was with Liam.
"It's nothing..."
Zoe quickly put on her mask and walked towards me hurriedly. I tried to wriggle out of Liam's arms but he held me quite tightly but not as much as Lucas had held me earlier. His was so much more protectively.
He leaned closer to my ear and whispered." I don't think that's a wise decision." I looked towards him and noticed that he was looking at Zoe too.
She walked till she was in front of me and did the unexpected.
She hugged me!

"I'm glad you are OK. Did Lucas hurt you?"
"How do you know him?"
She pulled away and looked between me and Liam.
"I don't know him. I overhead dad talking with mom about him."

Lies.

One thing I learnt about Zoe is that she never stutters when lying just like me. She just flips her hair. And that's exactly what she did.

"Zoe, you have to..."
I barely finished my statement when gunshots erupted. Deja vu much?

Zoe ducked under a table and both I and Liam followed suit. She lifted her dress slightly and to say I was shocked by what she did next would be an understatement. She pulled out a gun. A freaking gun! She looked at Liam and they shared a knowing look. It is only then that I realized that he had also fished out a gun.

Remind me again the kind of people I'm dealing with??

She shot up and crawled to the nearest table. She straightened her gun and shot. Not once not twice but countless times.
Liam on the other hand pulled me with him and crawled to the next table. Just then. I watched the table that we were previously on shatter as it broke. Wooah!

Liam held me with one hand on his side and with the other one, he went on around shooting. My mind was just confused and I could just not think straight. I swear if I leave this place tonight alive, I'm getting myself a gun for protection too. I mean Zoe has one too so why not.

Speaking of Zoe, I turned to look at her but she was no longer in her hiding place. Lucas had her at gunpoint and he was walking out of the room. I looked around and noone was watching him. I tapped Liam gently on his back making sure not to make too much noise so as not to blow our cover. He stopped shooting for a while and turned to look at me with an angry look. And here I thought, he was better than Lucas.

I pointed towards Lucas direction and his expression quickly softened. He stood up with me in his arms and walked carefully to to the direction Lucas had just gone out.

My heart was beating furiously because I was scared. Lucas could easily kill Zoe. I know we arent the best of sisters but I still love her. I know she has a temper equal to that of Lucas. So if Lucas starts an argument Zoe won't back down and the situation could be messy. What has she gotten herself into!

"Oof." I bumped into Liam's back when he stopped abruptly and realized we were now outside. Lucas was starring at Liam with a smug look on his face. Liam had the chance to shoot at him and take back my sister but he didn't. He just stood there and watched Lucas drive off with Zoe.

As soon as the car was out of sight, I turned to him. "Why didn't you do anything? You had all the chance to just shoot him and bring Zoe back,but you didn't. You just watched him take my sister away."

He started walking to his car with me beside him. "Oliver won't let him hurt her."
And with that... He pushed me into his car, got on the driver's seat and took off.
