Chapter 24

Liam follows me shortly into the  car and sits on the driver's seat. He clutches the steering wheel tightly as if trying to  hold himself back. His jaw is tightly clenched and veins are popping everywhere on his face. He looks like he could lose it anytime soon and I'm scared of what this man could do when angry.

"Why did you leave with him? "I turn to look at him squarely. Is he being serious right now?

"You left me all alone in that skunk of a place. What did you expect me yo do. Just sit there waiting for you? "

"Yes. That's what I expected only to be told you left with that  boy. "

I just look at him surprised.

"Why did you even bring me here in the  first place if my company wasn't needed. You practically begged me to come with you only for you to abandon me behind. "

He fists his hand and turns to look at me.

"I didn't leave you behind. I had to  take care of something with the Reens. Besides, I didn't leave you alone like you presume. I had guys all over watching out for you. How else do you think I could have noticed that you left? "

I just let out a sigh and turn away from him.

"I want to go home Liam. "

I watch him from the corner of my eyes as he smirks and I wonder why.

"Come on Chloe. Let's just stay for a while as I finish up something then I'll take you home. Ok? "He emphasizes on the word home and it hits me that I just called his house, home.

"I'll just wait for you in the car rather than staying in that place with all those smokers. "
He takes my hand and sandwiches it between his own, making me feel the tingles. I just wonder how he manages to make me feel like this all the time.

"I won't  leave your side this time. I promise. "I'm about to decline but then consider otherwise.

"Well mister, if you'll leave again don't think I'll just stay waiting for you, ok? "

"Ok. I won't hold you  back. "Excitement takes over his face and I just smile at him. He can be really a different person sometimes. He opens his  door and walks out while I do the same. I walk round the  bonnet until I'm standing by his side. His eyes darken as he walks close to me. He takes out his coat and I watch as he throws Noah's coat to the ground replacing it with his. He smiles at me as if appreciating himself for what he just did.

"Mine looks better on you. "

Before I think of a better comeback, he wraps his arm on my bare lower back and walks back to the room.

Its still stuffed with people but funny enough not all are smoking. Infact, on a closer look, no one is actually smoking.

Liam leans down towards my face and I shiver when his breath fans my neck. "I want you to meet someone. "

I simply nod and follow him when he starts walking.

We take the stairs until we come to  one of the doors.

He doesn't even knock before he pushes the door open.

I'm shocked when I see Tatiana, standing close to a man probably in his late fifties. She eyes me up and down before I see her snicker and look at Liam.

"Well, Morgan, I want you to meet Chloe. "

He walks over to me leaving Tatiana still standing next to his chair.

"So you are Chloe. Now I see what my boy saw in you. "

Liam sends him a glare but he only chuckles.

"Its nice finally meeting you. "He takes my  hand in his and gently pecks on my knuckles.

"The pleasure is all mine Sir. "I hear a low growl from behind me, which definately comes  from Liam, making Morgan to chuckle again.

"You look gorgeous Chloe. "

"And you don't look bad yourself. "

Liam let's out a cough and Morgan detaches his arm from mine.

He walks back to his chair and looks between me and Tatiana whose sending me death glares right now.

"Have you too met already? "

"Yeah, under different circumstances. "Tatiana says sharply and I can feel the edge in her voice. What really is her problem.

"Ooh, I see. "He looks once more at me giving me an approval  or so I think.

"Well princes, I wanted you to meet Morgan most especially because you'll be seeing more of him now. "

"Come on Lee. You should have let me stay in your house, I think I won't mind waking up to her face daily. "

Liam let's out another growl and this time  Morgan chuckles even louder.

"My boy you should have seen the  look on your face. Anyway, green doesn't suite you. "

"I'm not jealous Morgan. "Liam says shaking his head.

"Ooh come on, you can tell that to tgee birds. "

I really like  the fact that there is  atleast one person in this world who can have a decent conversation with Liam.

"Forgive my manners my dear. What would you like  to drink? "

"She doesn't drink. "Liam jumps in even before I can answer him.

Tatiana just scoffs and takes a seat beside Morgan. I'm even wondering what she's doing here in the first place.

"Come on, let her have one drink, besides you'll be there to take care of her won't you? "Morgan wiggles his eyebrows making Liam swat his shoulders playfully.

He pours me a drink and hands it over to me. I don't know  why I do what I do next but I look at Liam seeking his approval. He just stares at me before nodding hence giving me the  go ahead signal.

It isn't my first time drinking but still, I feel the burning sensation as I take my first sip. I feel Liam's arm on my shoulders and he squeezes it gently.
I gulp the remaining contents and place the glass on the  table only to be filled once more with another shot which I gulp almost immediately. I do the  same  with the  third, fourth and even the fifth. I'm about to take the next one when Liam takes the  glass away from me.

"I think you have heard enough for one night. "

"Come on, just one more. "I try to plead with him.

"No. Infact, we are going to be leaving now, you are already drunk. "

"No I'm not, I'm just a little bit tipsy. "Almost immediately, I feel my legs wobble like  jelly and I'm about to lose my balance when Liam rushes and holds me by my waist. Our faces are only inches apart and I think by just looking at his eyes, I become sobber again.

I hear him mumble something under his breath but I don't catch what he says despite how close we are. With one of his hands, he tucks a strand of my hair behind my ear and looks at me contentedly. I take my time studying every inch of his face. This guy standing in front of me is really handsome.

Someone clears their throat behind me and I try to pull away from Liam but he only adjusts his arms around me. He pulls me to his chest and I take in his cologne which is  by now my favorite smell.

"I think I'm  going to take her home now. "

"But I still want to stay with Morgan for a little while. "I whine.

Liam just shakes his head and lifts me carrying me bridal style.

"You are going to meet him some  other time baby. "He tells his uncle goodbye and walks me to his car. I'm slowly drifting uto sleep before we even get there. I snuggle closer to Liam and put my arms on his neck. He pecks my forehead lovingly and orders me to sleep which I do without a second thought.
