"Rosalie!" Someone yelled from behind me. I stopped just as I was about to pull the door open to exit the library. I turned and saw Violette rushing towards me. I smiled and quietly said "Violette, I think the point of the library, is that its quiet." She shrugged and asked "Got some time to hang out? I haven't really gotten to see you in a while. "

I felt guilt start to sprout in my chest. Any free time I had was spent either studying with the boys on how to not die while trying to do our jobs, or with Aiden. We didn't advertise our relationship, but basically everyone already knew. Luckily the people who oversee the Training Department don't mingle with us lowly Warriors, so we didn't have to be as careful as we probably should be.

I smiled and said "Yea I've got time. I was just going to go home and read something that isn't work related for once, but I'd rather hang out with you!" We headed out of the library and made the short trip to one of the common rooms. Each common room had a few pool tables, vending machines, and multple clusters of tables and arm chairs. Luckily the room we chose was mostly empty, so we claimed two chairs in the back right corner.

"So, how are things with Aiden?" She asked me. I felt a blush start to appear on my cheeks. I smiled and replied "Really well, actually. We aren't officially dating or anything, but we spend a good bit of time together. He used to sleep in my guest room the first two weeks I was here, but I have been sleeping on my own... most nights."

"Most nights?"

"Okay... maybe half the time." We laughed, and Violette kicked her shoes off before pulling her legs up and underneath her in the seat. I decided to do the same, and we laughed again.

"So, is there anyone in your life right now?" I asked her. Her smile faultered slightly, and she said "Unfortunatly, not. I go on a few dates here and there but no one really sticks. I had the most amazing boyfriend when I was alive... so I think he ruined all other guys for me."

"Wow, he was really that awesome?" I asked. I had some long term relationships before, but none that I couldn't get over eventually. Violette got this far away look in her round, dark chocolate colored eyes, and her head tilted to the side slightly as she said "Oh, Owen was amazing. We dated for three years, and things were perfect. He was a year older than I was, and had an internship at this really successful law firm. His dad worked very closely with the partners and it was really looking like he was going to be added as a partner in the firm.

He loved law, and the idea of keeping innocent people safe, by putting the bad guys behind bars. He was so driven and dedicated to his work... but he always made time for me. Every Thursday night was our night, and every Monday afternoon, we would meet for lunch. I always felt loved and cared for."

I found myself smiling at the idea of such a life. I pushed away the longing I began to feel for my own future plans, and instead said "He really does sound like something special. I'm glad you got the opportunity to be with him for at least a few years."

A sad smile crossed her face and she said "I am too. He has since moved on, and is engaged now to one of the receptionists at the firm." I didn't know what to say, so I just nodded. I decided to just let her talk as long as she needed to on the subject. Good thing too, because she had much more to say.

"That's okay though. I wouldn't want him to stay miserable forever. He mourned me for a long time. I have been down here five years, and he has only been with this girl for two and a half years or so? He still wont get on a boat though..." She trailed off. My eyebrow rose in a silent question.

Violette looked down and started playing with the hem of her dark denim shorts. She sighed again and said "We were with his family, on their boat. We had spent all day out on the lake, and were getting in a few more turns being pulled behind the boat on an innertube before we had to go home. I was on it with Owen's little brother, Connor, when we shot out over the wake we had created, and I flew off. I wasn't wearing a life jacket, because the strap had broken earlier in the day. I landed in the water pretty hard so I went fairly deep below the surface.
