I sat up and chucked the medicine ball away from me. I think I had done a million Russian Twists and I was totally over it. I took a long pull from my water bottle. The icy water slid down my throat and chilled my sweaty body to the core. I groaned softly in pleasure, then capped my bottle.
It had been two weeks since my trip Earth Side, and I wasn't sleeping well. If my sister hadn't bee home, I think I would have been okay. Hearing Mary crying just gutted me. Aiden stayed with me the first few days, but I sent him home eventually. I needed to be able to handle things on my own, although having him around really helped.
It was currently one in the morning on a Friday night. Aiden was on a simple mission in Texas, and I had left Travis' place at about ten. After not being able to focus on the television or any books, I gave up and got into some gym clothes.
Luckily I found the gym after only getting lost twice. It was completely empty, just the way I liked it. I went through my regular workout three times already, even though I knew I'd regret it in the morning.
I flopped down onto my back and stared up at the soft florescent lights that buzzed above me. I was really hoping Aiden would be back by now, but I wasn't worried. He said the Soul was roaming around a forest so it may take a while to find, but it was pretty freshly dead, so he expected it to be as quick as the trip Travis and I went on with him.
"Well, good morning, Cupcake." A voice said. I automatically rolled my eyes before sitting up and sighing "What do you want, Ryan?"
He was leaning against the door with his hands in the pockets of the black jeans. His red tank top showed off his impressive muscles. He may be insanely attractive, but he was a total jackass. Every time I ran into him, his eyes either lingered over me in an extremely uncomfortable way, or I was left with an innuendo that left me wanting to vomit.
"I was just on my way back from a night with my boys, when I saw you in here all alone. I figured you might be lonely."
"Thanks for your concern, but I'm content on my own." I told him, with an edge to my voice. A smirk came across his sharp features and he said "I can make you feel much more than content."
I fought a gag and shot back "You're right. You make me feel nauseated." Ryan's eyes flashed for a moment before pushing off the door and crossing over to where I sat.He knelt down next to me and said "Come on baby, let me take you out. I can show you a much better time than Aiden ever could."
"Thanks but no thanks. I'm not trying to get an STD. I'm not sure if Hell stocks Penicillin." I said with a smirk. His face cycled between shock, and anger before he glared at me and spat "Just as well. I bet you're a shitty screw anyway. " He quickly stood and headed for the door. Just before he stepped through, he stopped and said "You may want to think about being nicer to me. I have the power to make the rest of your existance a living Hell."
Before I could respond, he strode out the door and disappeared into the hall. I sighed and pushed myself off the floor so I could clean up and go home. I kept checking over my shoulder as I wiped down and put away my equipment.
I couldn't put my finger on it, but somthing about the confidence on his face as he threatened me made me feel like he meant every word.
