Start the song. It's Scrawny by Wallows
By the time the bell rang, Josh was out of his seat walking rapidly around the school. He kept running the number 36 in his mind. He was so distracted on finding a number that Jenna immediately caught up with him.
"What are you doing?" She said with a smile.
Josh looked down at her and back up, trying to find number 36. "Looking for a locker."
"What locker?" Jenna asked
"None of your business." Josh said.
"It's that boy isn't it? I knew it. You've always been into soft boys!" Jenna said enthusiastically.
Josh rolled his eyes and went back to paying attention to trying to find the locker. He kept walking frantically with Jenna by his side asking him questions on who the boy was and why Josh was looking for him. Ashley finally joined in with them and looked at Josh.
"Why does he look like he wants to beat up someone?" Ashley asked.
"He's looking for that boy in English!" Jenna said happily.
Before Josh could answer, He saw the small boy walking next to Geoff. He immediately pushed both Ashley and Jenna into a hallway where no one was looking. Josh peaked his head out and saw him. Tyler. He was smiling, that beautiful smile.
"Josh what the fuck?" Both Jenna and Ashley said.
"Shh." Josh said.
Jenna and Ashley looked at each other and peaked out the corner exactly as Josh did. Ashley looked at the boy then at Geoff who was standing next to him.
"What's his name, softie?" Ashley asked.
"First of all fuck you, second of all his name is Tyler and he came from California." Josh replied.
"You already know his name and where he came from? You must really like him." Jenna said.
"How are you gonna talk to him? He looks like he's swooning over Geoff right now." Ashley said, popping a bubble from her gum.
"I'll find a way." Josh said.

Tyler was having a good day so far. He had made new friends and had been talking to Geoff about Ohio and why he had moved here. Geoff seemed to listen to anything Tyler said. He also met a girl named Hayley. She seemed pretty nice too and she had bright bleached hair. It was currently lunch when he and Geoff walked up to the table where everyone he had talked to this morning, was sitting at.
"We didn't scare you off?" Elijah said as Tyler sat down.
"I need friends. I don't want to be lonely." Tyler replied.
The table giggled and continued to eat and talk about school and what it was like being here. Everything was going fine until Tyler turned his head to see the pink haired boy Josh, staring at him. He must've been caught because he immediately looked away from Tyler.
"Hey, what's Josh's story?" Tyler dared to ask.
The table got quiet. No one wanted to even speak about him. Everyone just looked at each other, debating whether to speak or not. That's when Geoff spoke up.
"He got here during sophomore year. People use to think he was weak because he never talked. Apparently he came from an alternative school. Where all the 'bad' kids go. One day he kinda just snapped and started beating the fuck out of this guy who would pick on him everyday." Geoff said.
"Ever since then, people started respecting Josh. Girls who wanted the bad boy, got him. The guys who had a problem with him, got their ass kicked." Awsten pitched in.
"I'm pretty sure he's not all mean, right?" Tyler asked.
The table didn't say anything. The bell had rung, everyone from the table got up and walked to their class. Tyler stopped in the middle of the hallway before the classroom. Geoff looked at him confused.
"Tyler? You coming?" He asked.
"Uh, yeah I just have to go to my locker. I'll see you in there." Tyler said before walking back to his locker.
When he was out of sight, he took a turn into the boys bathroom and stood in front of the mirror. He couldn't help that he wanted to know more about this so called bad boy Josh. Why was everyone afraid of him. Tyler wasn't. He thought Josh was an asshat but he's not afraid of him. Tyler breathed in and walked out of the bathroom only to bump into someone taller than him. Tyler made a little 'oof' sound as he knocked down to the floor.
"I'm so sorry!" The voice said.
They lifted Tyler up and grabbed all his things from the floor. Tyler finally looked up to see the pink mess of hair, squinty eyes and gauges in the persons ear lobes. This was the person everyone was afraid of? This was Josh?
"You're new here aren't you?" Josh asked.
"Yeah, i'm new." Tyler replied.
"Well good luck, you'll need it." Josh said.
When he started to talk away, Tyler couldn't help but blurt out "You're him aren't you? The one everyone is afraid of?"
Josh walked back to Tyler slowly. No one was in the hallway to witness anything. Josh got close to Tyler's face and smirked at him. He obviously towered over the boy but, Tyler held his ground and just glared at him.
"I'm just the asshole that everyone is afraid of." Josh said.
"Well, I have news for you Joshua." Tyler said.
Tyler leaned into Josh's ear and whispered, "I'm not afraid of you." He simply leaned back and walked away from Josh. He turned his head slightly to see Josh staring at him walk away.
Tyler smirked at himself and walked into class sitting down next to Geoff. Tyler simply took out a notebook and pencil and went on about his day.
