Shivering, you drew your arms around yourself as you struggled to find the least bit of comfort in the garage. It was an exceptionally cold night, and the newspapers were doing no good. You had tried layering your other clothes, but they were so cut up and torn, you may as well have tried using rotted wood to build a shelter.
You eventually got warm by layering your clothes, and stuffing newspaper in between to act as insulation. You then leaned against a wall, in the fetal position. You were wide awake, and the clear night was seemingly forcing thoughts in your head. Thoughts that could get you killed if you weren't careful. Mostly hopeful thoughts.
If you had found the courage to tell people about your parents, you could maybe get out of it. But that didn't work last time. A year after the problems first began, you watched a documentary on domestic abuse, and how telling someone was always the best route. So you tried it. You told your teacher, and he reported it to the police, who confronted your parents. They provided sufficient, forged evidence against your claims, and when the police left, your living got worse.
You had tried running away a year later, but your parents had not hesitated to call the police, faking tears and self torture, and a search was conducted, quickly finishing when you were found on the side of a highway. You were forced back to your family, who pretended to welcome you with open arms and tears of joy. Then it got worse. ((This May or May not be a reference to how stupid the majority of abused male reader stories go. Seriously guys? Write something at least somewhat original[I know, I have no room to talk]))
A few months after that, you tried joining a gang, and getting into illegal activities, such as vandalism, in attempt to try and fit in. But years of abuse left you frail, and afraid. Gang activity was a no-no.
A month after that, you grew notorious with police for being a thief, stealing food and money from stores and innocent people. Every time you got caught, your parents got worse, until you just... broke. You didn't try anything after that. People avoided you due to your history of being a loner, degenerate, and (assumes) emo.
At that thought, you looked up at the wall opposite to you. Several tools hung on the wall, obviously uncared for. Your eyes landed on a rusty jigsaw, and you imagined the feeling of it sliding across your wrist... your neck...
No. You wouldn't kill yourself. You would never. Then an even more disturbing though climbed into your mind. If not kill yourself, why not your parents? A pillow over the face, Hammer to the temple, or even a shovel to the throat would end it all so fa-
"No." You told yourself. You didn't care if you were going crazy. You weren't going to kill anyone. Nobody. Not a single soul would be lost because of you. You tried fighting back once. A scar on your shoulder showed why you never did again.
After oh, so, SO long, you drifted off, only to snap awake with sunlight landing on your eyes. You shook your head, yawned quietly, to not disturb your parents, and shedded the extra layer of clothes, letting the newspaper fall as well. You pushed yourself up, teetered for a bit, and started a new day.
You soon left the house, oatmeal waiting for your parents, and jogged to school, still blinking sleep out of your eyes. When you arrived, the doors were already open, and students streaming in. You followed the flow, hoping to get through another possibly quiet day.
First hour, second hour, third hour, lunch, empty stomach, fourth hour, fifth, final, lecture room.
The day's events seemed to pass as if with the wind. Ivy skipped school, leading to actual progress on the school project, which you had an extra week to finish, and soon you were home.
Beating with bottles, cleaning, kicking, making dinner, slapfest, cleaning, garage, sleep.
Get up, make breakfast, steal some, run away for school, go through hours, reach lunch.
You walked through the cafeteria, reaching your usual corner. You took a seat, and seeing no real thing to do or worry about, you rest your head on your arms, closing your eyes. Slowly, you nodded off.
You snapped up, awake, as something hit your head. You looked around in brief panic, only seeing somebody run off. You calmed down, looking at the table, before your surprise turned to confusion. Somebody had thrown a six pack of mini donuts at you, from the school store. You looked around, seeing nobody at all suspicious to you, before grabbing the package. You opened the plastic, and gingerly grabbed a donut, placing it in your mouth.
It was delicious. You slowly savored the bite of food, before grabbing another donut, taking a bite this time, before shoving the rest in your mouth. Tears almost spilled as you swallowed. Who would be kind enough to just give you this?
Teachers don't just spend money on students. You had no friends, and there was no trash can somebody might've missed if they threw it at you. That left only one option. Ivy. You quickly dismissed that.
She was a bully, a tormentor, an overall bitch. You might've given her a good hit to the head, but she won't just change. Not now, not for you, not ever. But she was pretty cute, you had to give her that, even if it meant nothing. You ate a third donut, looking around to see if anyone was watching. Nobody.
The day passed again, and you found yourself tenderly opening the door to the lecture room, silently walking to your seat. Ivy sat in the middle row today, and she only stared at her phone as you worked. But... something did change. Whenever she glanced at you, you felt... nothing. She didn't have her usual malice-filled glare or her horrid sneer. And most notably, nothing hit you as you worked. No paper balls, no pencils, no erasers, nothing.
When the time eventually came, you silently packed your stuff, and without a word, you walked out of the room, sighing as you left the school once again.
So. Another chapter gone. Before you go off and read something else or whatever you do when I'm gone, I have two things to ask of you. Firstly, how do you like the story so far, on it's own, compared to other stories with an abused MC, or compared with the original story?
Secondly, after I finish this story, which is not gonna be for awhile, how would you feel about me going out of my comfort zone and making stories for other shows? I'm personally thinking of a Re Zero story with Rem, as there aren't many good ones out there(no offense to any Re: Zero authors). Also, how would you feel about crossovers? The only one I'm thinking about trying is a Re Zero Rem x Male Stand User Reader from JoJo, but that's all up to you guys. Anyways, it's about time I stop wasting your time. Have a great day!
