Jesse's POV
Its been a little over a week since Taya has woken up from her change. She took two days to wake up and then only one to heal after that. Probably thanks to her new werewolf strength. There is only six days left until the fight between Taya and Jasmine and I'm freaking out. I have been researching ways to get out of this fight and even tried to call in some personal favors to the Werewolf Council but no solutions have appeared.
Taya is training at the moment with Nick and Caleb. She is very fond of them and it makes me happy that she is happy. Although I would be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of the smiles she gives them. My wolf side thinks that her smiles should be mine and mine alone but I understand that she doesn't see it that way.
Nick has been giving me progress reports on her. He tells me that she is shaping up rather quickly. She is fast as hell and her white wolf is an angelic type. It makes fighting in the wolf form harder for other wolves because they hesitate due to her pure nature. She has also become a pro at shifting. She complained that it still ached a little but that nothing compares to the shift. And don't I fucking know it.
I have been watching her fight today because I missed her and I wanted to see for myself how good my girl was.
She finishes sparing with Caleb. It ends with Caleb on his back and her standing above him. Clear win.
"Good job baby", I say to my sweet girl. She apologizes to Caleb in case she hurt him and runs over to me.
"Hey bubs, I heard you watching me", she tells me and pecks my lips while hugging me.
"Heard", I question.
"Yeah, I can tell the difference between your heartbeat and others", she tells me and it sends shivers down my spine for some reason. Good shivers, like, I can't wait to make love to her shivers.
"That's so sweet, my precious girl", I tell her. "I just wanted to watch you for a little bit, I have to go back to my office but I want a kiss first", before she pecks my lips I stop her head with both of my hands on either side of her face. "A real one", I demand.
She giggles and kisses me. Kissing her is such an amazing feeling. Her kisses alone beats sex with any other girl I've ever had. She ends the kiss with a peck and smiles. I'm dreading leaving this girl but I know that I should let her train some more so I go.
Taya's POV
When Jesse leaves my heart breaks a little bit. It always does but luckily I'm with Nick and Caleb and I know they'll make me feel better...mentally. Physically however, I'm probably gonna need another ice bathe tonight. Those things have been a very frequent occurrence in my life as of late.
"Come on lover girl, we'll take a little break to talk strategy", Nick calls over to me.
I walk towards the park style benches, that have tables connected to them and I gulp my water.
"Jasmine is a much more skilled fighter than you", he starts,
"Uh, hey, rude. I'm sitting right here", I look at Caleb to back me up.
"Well it's true, you are getting very good especially for how little time you've trained, but Jasmine still was Warrior Leader for a reason", Nick explains. "We need to use all of our resources".
"Like what", I question.
"Jasmine doesn't know that you've gone through the change and with how rare it is I'm sure she isn't even considering that you may have done it. You need to use that element of surprise as it will be in your favor to do so. She will be weaker than she was when you guys spared since she has not had access to a gym and the food block Jesse has put on her", Nick explains.
"I've told him not to do that. I know that she is strong but I don't know if I can fight a starved girl. That's just wrong", I tell them.
Caleb and Nick star at me as if I've got two heads.
Caleb starts, "you do know that she wants to kill you right"?
"Yes I know", I reason, "but that doesn't mean I want her to be tortured".
"I'm with Caleb on this one and good luck changing Jesse's mind and getting him to lift the ban", Nick says with a slight chuckle in his voice.
I start to think about everything and I just find it so unfair what they are doing to her. She is going into this fight completely blind, starved and heartbroken. It's not right.
"I gotta go talk to Jesse", I tell them already walking away.
When I get to Jesse's office he is wearing glasses and reading something on his computer.
He looks adorable and I almost forget to be mad for a second.
"What's wrong babydoll", he speaks first.
"I cannot stand behind what you're doing to Jasmine. It's wrong. She doesn't deserved to be tortured so that I can win the fight. Please feed her Jess", I tell him.
"Absolutely not", he says straight faced.
"What do you mean absolutely not? It wasn't a question. It's not fair she could die before we even get to the fight", I tell him.
"I do not care, it's what she deserves and she won't die before the fight. I promise", he tells me. He stands up to come touch me and I storm out of the room.
I'm upset that I didn't get what I wanted but also that he struck me down like that. We are equals. He doesn't have the power to tell me no. So with that thought, I get a basket of food ready. I'm going to go see Jasmine one more time before the fight.
