Chapter 27: Grim Reminder

Recap: From the last chapter it was the Survey Corps versing Erwin's Shinzo Squad, the battle for Humanity was on the Line, peace being the only objective, putting an end to the torture their ancestors started Years ago.

<Eren's POV>

Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Levi and the rest of the Survey Corps endured a Battle that they will never forget, taking down Erwin's Squad was something not to even laugh about, they suffered even more casualties one to actually dent their reputation in keeping more people alive or to even have any new recruits joining them in the future. It was a sad matter to even think about but yet those Soldiers put their life on the Line.

Eren had woken up, he was in the Infirmary as he suffered a bit of a knock when he fell from his Titan, there was a bandage around his had. He took a severe hit when his head hit the ground before Mikasa catches him. He picked himself up and noticed Mikasa the only person around.

Eren: "Mikasa........" Eren said.

Mikasa dozed off as she had her eyes closed. That was until the Scarf that Eren gave her fell down on the ground. Eren gets himself out of bed and stretches himself, he must've been out for days as he struggled to keep balance on both his legs. Eren bends down to pickup the Scarf, he held it with both hands, remembering the day he gave it to Mikasa, the day he saved her from those Predators who only had one thing on their mind.

Mikasa wakes up.....she noticed Eren.

Mikasa: "Eren.....you're awake....thats..."

Eren: "It fell down." Eren said as he gave the Scarf back to her.

Eren: "That scarf has seen better days......I'll get you a new one if you like" Eren said.

Mikasa looks down towards the Scarf, she gripped it while stroking the red stitches and fur that was on it.

Mikasa: "I-its fine.......I want to keep this one........its special to me" Mikasa said.

Mikasa shifts herself and looks towards Eren, she gave a worried look to him. Eren stared back at her. He was slightly confused by it all.

'I really should tell him my feelings' Mikasa thought.

Eren: "What is it?" Eren said.

Mikasa looks back down as she couldn't find the words to even say, she was flustered by it all.

Mikasa: "Its nothing" Mikasa said. .........."you should eat your food Eren" Mikasa said back.

Eren just stares out the Clear Window, he notices a lot of parades happening outside, there was people celebrating while there were also people shooting fireworks.

Eren: "Guess they heard the news"

Mikasa: "Yeah........"

Suddenly the Door Opens wide and Armin as well as Jean, Sasha and Connie enter the Room.

Armin: "Eren you're awake" Armin said while he gave him a Hug.

Eren: "Yeah I guess so"

Connie: "Glad your still alive Yeager"

Sasha didn't even say anything as she was stuffing her mouth with the Food she got from the Parade outside.

Jean: "Yeager"

Eren: "Jean"

They stared at each other and gave a determined look.
