Chaeyoung looked at Jeongyeon as she held the pistol on her hand. Despite being a cop of high rank, her hands were shaking. And she understood. Jeongyeon was about to kill someone out of combat. Whether or not that someone is innocent is not of the matter, she is about to kill a defenseless person.

"Everyone gather in the center of the room" Jeongyeon spoke, eyes downcast, hesitating. Everyone complied quickly.

"Form a half-circle in front of me and sit down." She instructed them again. Chaeyoung immediately positioned herself next to Mina. Nayeon sat down to Jeongyeon's left, followed by Mina, Chaeyoung, Momo, Dahyun, Tzuyu, Sana and finally Jihyo to Jeongyeon's right.

"I don't much about all of you. But I know you don't want this just like me. But if we have to survive, this must be done." Jeongyeon started. "For what it's worth, I'm sorry for what's about to happen. I will remember each of you... Now close your eyes. You don't need to see it."

Everyone closed their eyes, and Chaeyoung held Mina's hand. They look at each other and nodded solemnly as they closed their eyes.

In the darkness, Chaeyoung only had her hearing and feeling senses to help her. She felt Mina rubbing the back of her hand, she returned the sentiment. She heard the footsteps of Jeongyeon circling them. Going around their back. She heard Mina's breathing. She heard the walls move towards the center again. She was tempted to look. But she kept her eyes closed, afraid of what she might see. She held Mina's hand tighter. She heard Jeongyeon's heavy breathing, still hesitant on what she was about to do. Eventually the footsteps stopped.

Chaeyoung listened as the walls kept moving, the thunderous noise it had on the room almost drowning out any other sound. It kept going and going and then...

[BANG!!!][THUD]

Chaeyoung heard the loud gunshot, and the sound of a body dropping. But didn't know which direction it came from as it seemed to echo around the room. All she knows is that it's not her, nor Mina. She kept her eyes closed. The walls stopped moving. Eventually she opened her eyes and immediately looked around the room, first to Mina, then the rest... Jeongyeon was knelt on her left, eyes closed, body slacked, looking over a dead body... Momo's dead body.

Everybody just stayed where they were staring at the sight before them. It reminded Chaeyoung of a fucked up tableau. Blood oozed from the gunshot on Momo's chest. Her eyes were still open staring off into nothingness. Jeongyeon remained unmoving too still holding the gun that took Momo's life. Chaeyoung couldn't look anymore. She felt like she has seen too much already. She hugged Mina.

The long silence continued until it was finally broken by Jihyo.

"Why Momo?" she addressed Jeongyeon. But she was still not responding to anything.

"I'm guessing because Momo lied." Mina softly answered for Jeongyeon. Chaeyoung ran circles on her back in support. It was strange for her to feel caring for a stranger, but she feels a certain protectiveness to her.

"Momo's reactions and words say she has never held a gun in her life. But according to Jeongyeon, her stance when she held the gun said something else. Like she has..." Mina trailed off

"Like she has killed before?" Jihyo finished for her.

"Yes" Mina replied.

And just like that the silence fogged the room again. It looked significantly smaller than before, Jeongyeon did took her time in her decision.
