The Box (A Twice AU)

Chapter 1 - Where, Who, and Why

Jeongyeon woke up groggily. No alarms. No sounds of traffic or pollution to be heard. And for some reason she was asleep on the floor... Jeongyeon gasped as she remembered the events of last night... Or was it earlier? She doesn't know. But she woke up fully when she realised what had happened. She stood up, alert for any danger as she surveyed her surroundings. There were 9 other girls here. All still asleep. All positioned near the wall. And in the center, a pedestal not any higher than her waist, and in it was a single pistol and an hourglass. The center of each side of this... room were painted with a drawing. One side has an eye, the next one has an ear, the other has a hand, and the side where she is has lips. All 2d paintings. No visible indents.

Jeongyeon's survival instincts kicked in and immediately looked for a way out surveying the walls. Yet... They seemed to be airtight. She started feeling for any hidden locks on the walls on her side, but nothing. She heard collective groans and turned her attention to the others, finally waking up. Reactions were mixed when everyone realised where they were. Some were very vocal "WHERE THE FUCK AM I?" and some were silently just horrified.

"You!" A girl with fluffy cheeks addressed Jeongyeon. She has two cutely large front teeth as well.

"Yeah?" She replied.

"You're the first to wake. Where the hell are we?" the bunny girl asked.

"I actually don't know. I've only been awake for a few minutes" Jeongyeon answered.

"damn it."

Everyone stood up at that point, surveying their surroundings as well.

"What's with the gun and the hourglass?" A small girl asked, she's quite the looker. With a beauty mark under her strawberry red lips.

"I have no idea what they're for. But the gun is a Gen 5 Glock 19, it's semi-auto, and can hold up to 15 9mm rounds."

"All I understood from that was Glock and the fact that it can hold up to 15 bullets." A girl with slightly large eyes commented.

"How do you know so much about guns?" another girl asked, a blonde one, the hair framing her beautiful face definitely makes her look like a shiba inu. A really cute one.

"I'm a police officer. Seoul Police." Jeongyeon replied.

"Ooh ooh I know you!" the girl with an anime looking hairstyle blurted out. What's that hair called? A He- Hime cut? Jeongyeon thought.

"You do?" Jeongyeon asked.

"Yeah! You're officer... No Lieutenant Yoo! You're very famous in our area. People say you defeated the triad boss in hand to hand combat!" the girl excitedly replied.

"Looks like you have a fan there, Ms. Yoo" the bunny girl commented dryly. What's up with her?

"That's far from the truth of it but yeah, I am Lieutenant Yoo Jeongyeon of the Seoul Police Force." Jeongyeon curtly introduced herself.

"I'm Hirai Momo! I'm a teacher at JYP Dance Academy." The girl with the Hime cut replied.

"Im Nayeon." bunny girl introduced herself. Jeongyeon raised her brows. She just rolled her eyes. "I'm a University Professor" she finally added.

"My name is Park Jihyo" the girl with slightly big eyes introduced herself.

"Ooh I knew you looked familiar! You're the CEO of Park Industries!" the blonde girl cut in.

"Y-yes. How did you know that?" Jihyo asked.

"I'm a big fan of your company's work. The change you are making in the world. It's amazing. Aaand I was selected for interview this coming week for your secretary. I'm Minatozaki Sana." the girl answered almost rapidly.
