"They're infected. The cuts on Merlins arms, they're infected and if we don't get him some medicine soon... he'll... he'll die."

Arthur and the others looked down at merlin, who had been unconscious for a little over 2 days, the cuts were bandaged, but a tinted red was visible around the large gashes, his entire upper body was brutally bruised, mainly his arms. Merlin had been ill due to the infection, his fever had broken a few hours ago, but the young brunette was still coated in a thin layer of sweat. Merlins breathing was extremely shallow, his eyes strewn shut in pain, everyone could imagine the pain he was in.

There was something else that was worrying the knights. When Merlin was taken to Gaius, his shirt was removed, everyone saw the scars. Hundreds of scars, big and small, littered Merlins chest, upper body and arms. One in particular, an extremely large one, that went from Merlins hip to his collar bone, it looked like it had hurt a lot. Another scar on Merlins aide, near his rib cage looked like an extremely lot like a bite mark, maybe a large dog or a hound attacked him and bit into him. Mordred, Gwaine and Arthur spent a few hours at first going over the scars and counting the ones they knew about, like the one on Merlins shoulder. The knights knew about that one, the servant had gotten it saving Leon's life, pushing him out of the way of an incoming arrow during a hunt.

A scar on Merlins stomach from when Merlin was stabbed protecting Gwaine.

An extremely visible scar on Merlins arm, from his shoulder to his elbow, from when Merlin was slashed at with a sword saving Mordred.

Just scars and scars, no one knew how hurt Merlin was until they saw those scars, how many times merlin had put himself in danger to protect everyone else and now has a permanent reminder of it. Everyone's stomachs twisted painfully, they swallowed hoarsely in unison.

That's when leon spoke up.

"Is is possible that... Is it possible that merlin always wears long sleeved shirts and jackets at all times..?" It clicked.

Merlin always wore long sleeves to hide his heroism, his courage, his extremely courageous heart, his selflessness, his idiotically protective nature. It tore everyone's heart a bit, Gwaine muttered,

"I was serious when I said that merlin is the one Arthur should be knighting.. He's saved all of our lives on multiple accounts and.." Gwaine trained off, then spun around,

"Gaius, what do we need to save merlin?!" Gaius grabbed one of his ancient books, and flipped it open and showed everyone a picture of a faded flower, petals bright pink, the paper faded a bit. Gaius looked up and said,

"Find this flower, the Amora Blossom. If you find this, I can save merlin. The whip he was attacked with;" Gaius leaned over and grabbed it off a table near by,

"This whip is under an enchantment. Any cut made with this, instantly become infected and lead to death. Find the flower, it has a countering agent in it, find it and I can save Merlin but you have to hurry. He only has a few days left, 5 days at the most. Please, hurry." All the knights nodded, memorizing the way the flower and all identifying marks on it. Gaius spoke again,

"It's found in the móróka forests, it's rare and grows in dark and wet areas, caves mostly. Now hurry!" All the knights nodded, shot a look at the unconscious brunette and took off, running down the halls and past servants with one, single and utterly important thought.

Save Merlin.
