Nathan's Pov

I held Brianna protectively in my arms. I wasn't too surprised to see her in this building. One of the reasons i bought it was to piss her off but I didn't know we were neighbors again. Thank God she had unlocked her door else she would have spent the night at my place.

I tried to push the door with my left hand and as soon as it became ajar, a big whiff of cold air with the scent of coconut and baby milk instantly hit me.

Her apartment was as cold as her.

"Oh my!" A woman in her thirties gasped and dropped her groceries on the floor. "Is she okay?" From across the hall, she ran to me and helped me push the door wider so i could have ease in carrying Brianna in.

"She fainted. Her temperature is rising."

I placed her carefully on her sofa and turned on the heater since the weather was really cold.

"My husband is a doctor. His down the hall let me go get him."

"Thank you."

I removed her curly hair from her face and took in her beauty. Her beauty was different than Sophia. Sophia had a delicate feminine face but Brianna had a baby face. I think she knew because her make-up made her appear intimidating. I brought my face closer and wanted to run my fingers through her hair but I resisted the urge. I remebered when i saw her back at Uncle Rick's place, i never imagined she could look so innocent and pure. Her beautiful curly hair lay playfully on her shoulders.

The woman that I saw with the full make-up was a total baby. She was pretty and intimidating with her make up but she was more prettier without any. Brianna was definitely not my type but her sad eyes she tried to hide, drew me in. I wanted to know more about her.

No! i have to stop thinking about her in that way. She doesn't mean anything to me.

"Good evening." The doctor came in with a stethoscope and a kit with his wife dragging him in faster.

He quickly went to Brianna and checked her pulse. "She's very weak. What did she have for dinner?" He turned to me.

"Honey, he wouldn't know that. He just moved in."

"No. We actually know each other but I don't what she had for dinner."

Before he opened the first aid kit he started undoing her clothes and i reacted.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"She needs enough oxygen and her clothes are restricting her."

He brought out a syringe and checked for her veins. It took him a while but he found it and administered IV to her.

"Is she going to be okay." His wife beat me to the question. "She works a lot. I always see her leave early in the morning and come back late at night. It's too bad she stressed herself to the point she fainted."

"She'll be fine."

"Thank you." I said to the man.

"Wait! I think I've seen you somewhere."

"On the news?"

"Yeah! Your Nathan Hudson. Wow! Nice to meet you."

I smiled. "You too. Is she really going to be okay? No more fainting?"

"Well, she has to finish the IV and you have to watch her. She may get a fever in the middle of the night. Put a cold towel on her forehead when that happens and check her temperature. When she wakes up, she needs to eat and rest. You also have to let her know her body is not a machine. Even machines breakdown."
