Twenty-Four

BRIANNA'S POV

All I did was use him in my pictures. I didn't kill anybody. So, why is he just a tornado in my life. Destroying everything. In my defence, he wasn't even showing in the pictures. He was blurred the whole time. Now, he's trying to downgrade me? Such an obnoxious, ignorant ass.

"Don't tell me you're the type of man that feels manly when he threatens a lady." I folded my arms in front of him daring him to speak to me in that manner again.

"The cleaning tools are in the store room. You should start working before i loose my temper." He smirked.

"Uhmm...I'm I interrupting something?" A man who I hadn't noticed in a casual shirt and jean asked at the doorway.

"Collin meet our new maid. Maid meet Collin, my personal assistant."

I scowled at Nathan and he just ignored me and left to another room with his PA.

If he thinks I'll clean his place then he's definitely high on one of the things they smoke in California. I called the cleaning agency that cleaned my place and waited for him in the kitchen while checking emails on my phone.

''Why are you idling around?" His deep voice startled me. He was dressed casual. He covered his hair with a black beanie, he was wearing a black expensive leather jacket and paired it with a black jean.

I got up from the stool and the pain below my stomach caused me to groan but I quickly hid it with a yawn.

I wouldn't let him see me weak.

He ignored me and went to one of the cupboards behind me. After a gruesome amount of shuffling, he dropped a bowl and a box of fruit ń fibre cereals. I heard a fridge open and he came back with a carton of almond milk.

I scoffed. "What? Are you vegan?"

"No, I just like a healthy breakfast. It doesn't matter anymore. I just lost my appetite." He said and pushed the box of cereal to me as if telling me to eat it instead.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Collin." His PA smiled at me and I returned the gesture. "I'm Brianna."

Nathan left the kitchen and picked his car keys from the coffee table. "I need a three course meal this evening, make sure everything is perfect by the time I'm back. You can use this to buy anything you need." He dropped his black card on the table.

"Bye." His PA said to me and followed Nathan out the door.

"You need a three course meal." I mimicked in a high pitched voice after he left.

I sighed when I looked at the poor cereal sitting peacefully in front of me. Whatever reasons he left it here for, I didn't care. I was hungry and needed to eat. I poured the contents in the plate and munched it while I dialed Jane's number.

After explaining things, she finally spoke in a dismayed voice. "He threatened you?"

"Yes!" I was happy she took my side.

"That is so hot." She squealed.

"Jane!"

"I mean ugh! I hate him. Who is he to do that?"

"I need your help."

"The person i'm worried about is Natty boy. He's going to be needing a lot of help from the hospital when he takes a bite from your food. I mean that's the worst decision he could ever make. You are a horrible cook."

"I'm very aware of that."

"It's like he's writing his own death wish asking you to cook. You can't even cook if your life depended on it. I mean, a dog wouldn't even accept your food. If it sniffs your food, he'd raise it's paw and be "woof nuh uh!"  She laughed at her joke.

"Are you done?"

"Ahem!" She cleared her throat after laughing.
"I would've helped but you have to learn how to cook for your future husband. Byeee, I love you."

"Future who? Jane...Jane. Hello?" She ended the call.

It was 5:30 PM and I was staring blankly at the items in the grocery store. Why do they have so many types of ginger? Don't they all do the same thing?

I rolled my cart aimlessly to the next curve and bumped into someone's cart.

"Oops! I'm sorry" I reversed the cart and continued walking but the girl with the cart followed me.

"Uhm...Hy! You're Brianna right?" She smiled at me as we moved the cart.

I stopped and studied her appearance. She was Mexican, had brown wavy hair and had a curvy physique. She was wearing a black top with a pink biker short. Her smile was too friendly like she had been taught to smile like that and with the way she carried herself you'd know she was from a rich family.

"Yeah, how did you know?" I smiled back.

"You're like one of the most famous female billionaires I admire. You've made it seem like a woman can be dedicated to her work and have a love life. Well, even though it didn't end well for you, you still tried. But because of you, I'm determined to get back with the man I love." She said with so much determination it scared me.

She wasn't making sense but I had to be polite. "Oh, thank you and goodluck." I smiled and moved back to the challenge Nathan gave me.

"Do you need help?" She came up to me again.

"No, not really?" Who was I kidding I needed help.

"Yes actually. I'm trying to cook dinner for the first time this year but I can't find the right brands to choose. "

"Don't worry I'll help you." She took the list from my hands and started putting my contents and hers in each cart.

"Oh, okay."

As I payed the cashier with Nathan's card, she stared at it blankly.

"Are you okay?" I said as we walked out of the grocery store.

"Yeah, yeah. It's just that your card is familiar to someone I know."

"Trust me, you'll hate the owner of this card more than i do."

She laughed but it didn't seem real. She was still trying figure out the card.

I stopped in front of my car. "Well, this is me. Do you need a ride?"

"No thanks. My car is at the other side."

"Alright then. Thank you so much for your help today. Honestly."

"No worries. I believe in the therapeutic value of one woman helping another."

I smiled. She seemed really nice. Maybe we could be friends someday. "I'm sorry, I didn't get your name."

"Sophia. Sophia Hudson."
