“Okay, so you like me,” He said.
“No, I love you. One would think you’d have picked this up by now,” I muttered.
“Yeah, okay so… yeah,” He mumbled awkwardly and put down his fork. “What did you want to do about it?”
I stared at him in disbelief. Was he kidding? “What do I-fucking hell, Matty, I want to know how you feel!”
“What do you-“
“No avoiding; you promised!” I snapped while he grimaced. “Do you like me? Are you somewhat attracted to me? Just… tell me so I can move on!”
Matty sighed and sat back, shifting to get comfortable. “Well… I-I’m not really good at this sort of thing.”
“And you think I am?” I questioned.
He closed his eyes with a sigh. “Yeah, okay so maybe I find you attractive and have been a little confused and no, I don’t know what to do about it. When you kiss me I kiss back because I want to and it feels nice”
“Then… then experiment!” I exclaimed, scooting closer, wide eyed. “Gi-give us a go! It should make your mind up!”
“I don’t know… I mean, you’re my nephew!”
“And you’re my adopted half uncle. Do we really have to go over that all the time?” I demanded.
“Well. Yeah, I know but I kinda saw you grow up.”
“I saw you grow up too! You’re only nine years older!” I argued.
“Okay, yeah but I’m not really gay.”
“But your curious!” I cried. “Maybe you’re bi!”
“I really don’t-“
“Please, Matty! Stop doing this to me!” And then I started crying again. Take the bait, take the bait, take the-YES! Matty reached over and pulled me into his arms, holding me tight.
I let out a few sobs and clung to his shirt.
“Shh…” He hushed. “I’m sorry. You’re right, I’m being a douche. You know I’ll do anything for you.”
“Th-then give us a go!”
He sighed and kissed he top of my head. “Yeah, okay. We’ll give this a try, okay?”
I hugged him tightly and he held me, rubbing my back and occasionally nuzzling my neck. I’m pretty sure he didn’t realize he was doing that, but who was I to argue?
