"And when Allura addressed the Alteans, they asked if she had been sent by Lord Lotor."

Starlight laughed hysterically, the blue hologram not doing her reaction justice. "What'd she do?"

Keith leaned back in the stiff chair. "We had to hold her back while Coran explained who she was. When they asked if she was Lotor's queen, we decided it best to relocate them and get into the fine details later. And do so without Allura present."

Star covered her mouth as the uncontrollable chuckles continued. Keith laughed with her, leaning on his desk. The lights were out and blinds shut over his bedroom window in order for the miniature hologram communicator to work well. Thank goodness the projection wouldn't show her the unruly bed under the window and unorganized dresser with pulled out drawers on the opposite wall. Or the unexplainable pizza smell that she despised.

She regained control of herself, tossing her double pigtails back over her shoulders. "Well, I'm glad the coordinates we found at Lotor's base were good. Otherwise, you might have been searching the entire universe for the Alteans."

Keith chuckled and nodded. "Yeah. So how's it going on Valkara?"

"Same as last week. We brought some more refugees to the village, female and male. Young boys and adolescents, but everyone seems to be cooperating with the new objective. Protecting the defenseless no matter gender, I mean."

Keith grinned. "That's good. Maybe soon I can move there."

Star hunched and looked away. "Not this again."

Keith pulled his chair up. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means every time we talk, you bring up moving to Valkara and then I spend ten of your minutes explaining why you moving here could unsettle the balance of power. Most of the villagers are used to a man ruling, meaning you would be seen as the leader when I, in fact, am the Lady of the Valkyrie."

Keith threw his hands in the air. "But then I suggest you moving in with me and then we argue about how you have to be on Valkara because you are the leader. And the fact you don't want to live in the same house as your boyfriend."

Star slammed her hands on the holo-table, head bowed. "I've seen what can happen when a couple decides to live with each other without vows to one another. It's not pretty."

Keith crossed his arms and turned from the projection. "I remember. And I agreed. But then you say that we can't be on the same planet."

"The universe needs Voltron and Voltron needs you. That means where the other Paladins are, you must be."

"That's stupid."

"That's fact!" Star glared into his cold eyes. Both softened. Star sighed and leaned away from the hologram. "We have this argument too often."

Keith nodded. "So what do we do?" His wolf yawned in the corner and came over to his chair.

Star didn't make eye contact. "I don't know. I really don't know."

Keith kept his eye off her disheartened appearance. They had tried visiting each other, but something always came up on one person's end or the other. So they called, but it was hardly enough. Talk about long distance relationship.

He scratched behind his wolf's ears as the silence grew uncomfortable. He eyed his jacket on top of the stack of disheveled clothes. He whistled and nodded to the jacket. "Send."

The wolf grabbed the jacket and vanished.

In the Valkyrie's Palace, Star leaned on the holo-table, staring at her wool-lined boots as she tried to find words. Keith's wolf appeared beside her, red and white jacket in his mouth. "Sigma." She took the jacket from his mouth, ruffling his fur. She kissed his muzzle. "Pass it on."
