A very unfortunate begining

"Are you sure we should be doing this? I mean what if it doesn't work and we just make things worst for those people?" Herobrine asks the man working on redstone in front of him, "I don't think I could live with the guilt if it does."

"It'll work, trust me. It isn't even possible to hurt the people above. I made this new block to be indestructible," the man explains, pointing to the dark gray block above them as a spark flies off the redstone he'd been working with, "Ow! Damn, that one actually hurt! Anyway, I've been researching this set up for weeks now, and it's sure to make you even more powerful than you already are," He finishes.

"But I don't want to be more powerful! Can't you see that? I didn't even want the powers I have now! Why can't we just leave and forget any of this ever happened? I was supposed to visit Steve and his family today. He says his daughter, Zyanya, has started mining by herself now. You could come with me, you know since you haven't even met your only niece yet and she's almost six," Herobrine pleads, glancing nervously at the contraption Notch was finishing up.

"I don't have time for family right now, I want to help our people first and for most. Those trolls and griefers are getting out of control!" He yells, angrily placing another Ender-Healer.

"Then why am I here!? If you don't have time for family then why do you have time to experiment on me!?" Herobrine retorts, slamming his fist on the stone brick wall besides him, causing it to crack, "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to shout, I just don't like being this far underground."

"Don't you want to be the hero I know you could have always been? Don't you want to save the suffering people up there?" Notch asks, repairing the cracked stone brick.

"No, Notch, I don't. I want to be normal again, like I was before...before...." Herobrine answers.

"If I could change what happened, you know I would. But you do love your-our niece, don't you?" Herobrine nods, "Then help me fix this world so she doesn't have to live in a future full of fear and hatred. Do this one thing and I'll find a way to make you the way you used to be," Notch promises, squeezing his brother's shoulders.

"Very well. Don't ever say your brother never did anything for you," Herobrine agrees hesitantly.

"You're the best younger brother a god could have!" Notch cheers, punching Herobrine in the shoulder, "Ok, now just stand down there and I'll fire her up."

Herobrine walks down to the balcony Notch had indicated. A redstone block marks where he is meant to stand, directly between two Ender-Healers.

"I know you said it was going to work, but are you sure it's safe?" He asks nervously, shifting his weight from foot to foot.

"You'll be fine! I tested this thing on a few of our prisoners. The ones sentenced to death. Only the first one died, the others were fine!" Notch encourages, his back to his younger brother.

"YOU GAVE THEM SUPERPOWERS!!!! Do you know how dangerous they are now! Why are we sitting here, we should go get them!" Herobrine yells jumping away from his place.

"Super powers don't make you immortal..." Notch whispers, "It's...been taken care of,"

"Oh, I-I understand now," Herobrine sighs, stepping back onto the balcony, "May I ask who it was?"

"It was Israphel the dark king and his followers. The ones that tried to make a hell out of the Overworld," Notch says, placing a lever, "Ok, ready?"

"As ready as I'll ever be," Herobrine sighs, closing his eyes. Notch flips the large lever, watching as the redstone he'd placed lights up, traveling further and further along. The current splits to send a redstone signal to each Ender-Healer. A loud boom echoes through the cavern and Herobrine is thrown into the air. The stone bricks that he lands on turn dark purple and begin spreading to the other stone bricks. Every other block turns into a sickly reddish stone, some with a pale white ore inside of them. The only normal block remaining is the bedrock far above the brothers.

"N-Notch, I think I'm dead. I can't feel my pulse! Or my heart beat!" Herobrine screams, searching desperately for any sign of life in himself.

"That doesn't make any sense. Come here, if your heart really stopped you wouldn't be talking," Notch demands, leaping onto the balcony from the ledge above, "Turn around,"

Herobrine turns helplessly around, his hand over his heart. Notch backs quickly away, terror in his eyes.

"W-What's wrong, Notch? Please tell me what's wrong!" Herobrine stutters, lava starting to fall from the ceiling as his fear grows, "NOTCH, TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME!!!!"

A piece of sand falls from the Overworld above, becoming an obsidian mirror when it hit the lava. Herobrine picks up the delicate glass, peering into it. He stares back at himself, but glowing, white, soulless eyes replace his normal brown ones. Herobrine drops the glass with a gasp of horror.

"No. Notch, please, you have to help me! Help your brother! That was dark magic you were playing with, help me!!!" Herobrine pleads, the Ender-Healer besides him shattering. Notch falls to the ground and backs up against the wall behind him.

"I know your angry right now, and probably want me dead, but I'm your brother. You can't kill your older brother," Notch whimpers as Herobrine walks closer to him.

"I'm not angry. I don't want you dead. I want your help!" Herobrine says, holding out a hand to help his brother up. Notch pulls out a dagger and throws it into Herobrines chest. Black blood flows from the wound. Herobrine looks down at the blade, then back up at his brother. He collapses in a heap and looks up helplessly as Notch throws an Enderpearl up to the cave entrance, sealing it with bedrock behind him.

"Notch, come back please. Don't leave me here to die. I-I knew this was a bad idea," Herobrine whispers to himself, passing out from the pain.

Hi, Bipolar here! I'll be updating this, hopefully, once a week. I hate it when I accidentally skip words or forget a letter, so if I misspell something PLEASE tell me! Please, please, please!
