I opened my eyes. I was still wearing my clothes from last night and was in what I assumed was Caleb's bed, but he wasn't anywhere to be seen. There was a black lazy boy chair next to the bed with a blanket on it, I'm guessing that's where he slept. He had a bookshelf, a desk, a tv, and a dresser in his room all neatly organized. I walked over to the door and opened it. It turned out to be the door to his closet so I quickly shut it and opened up the other door. This one led to a hallway with two more doors on the side of the wall I came out of, a door at the end of the hall, and three more doors across from where I was standing. When I looked right there was a flight of stairs and you could see a chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

I walked down the stairs. To my right was the front door and a closet door, across from me was a half bathroom, and to my left was a long hallway. I turned to the left and walked forward a little ways. To my right was a small living room with a fireplace, a kitchen, and dining room. To my left was a hallway with what looked like was another flight of stairs going down, a laundry room, two more bedrooms, and the door to the garage. Straight ahead of me was a door to their enormous backyard. I could hear Caleb talking in the kitchen so I walked in there.

"I really thought I was going to start a forest fire after knocking that candle over, then there would have been no date at all," I heard him say. I chuckled.

"We both know that you would have found something else to do if that did happen, and you'd be grounded until you graduate," I heard a familiar voice say. It sounded like my friends English teacher.

"Mr. Holden," I yelled.

He laughed. "Well good morning to you too, Maddie."

Caleb laughed then walked over to me. "How did you sleep last night?"

"Really good. Where did you sleep at?"

"The chair."

"Oh. So where is the rest of your family," I asked.

"Well Chase is in the living room, Emma is still asleep, and Emily is probably on the phone with her boyfriend somewhere."

"What about your mom?"

"Abby's at work," Mr. Holden said.

"That's cool. Where does she work at?"

"She's the owner of Priceless Photography."

"No way! I heard that it was ranked as the number one photography place in the midwest."

"That's my mom's business for you," Caleb chuckled.

"Emily," I heard Chase scream.

"What Chase?!"

"You sent that to the wrong person!"

"Shit," Emily yelled then came storming out of her room. "Delete it!"

"Do you need to call your parents and let them know that you're here," Mr. Holden asked.

"Good idea."

"You can sit on our back patio if you want," Caleb offered.

"Thank you," I said then Caleb led me out to the back patio. They had a large patio with an above ground pool attached to it then a line of trees about 1,000 feet in the distance. I sat down in one of the chairs and pulled out my phone. I dialed Olivia's mom's number. It ringed twice before she answered.

"Hey Maddie, everything alright?"

"Yeah. It's just I'm a little scared to go home."

"What happened?"

"Well, I went on a date with Caleb last night and ended up spending the night at his house. I promise that there was no sex or anything like that. But anyways, I don't want to leave his house and have to face Diane and Scott."
