A scar simply means you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you...

Jonah laid in Daniel's arms after his breakdown. Slowly everyone began going back to the house. They all had decided to stay over at Jonah's house for the night so each had clothes.

They all stripped to their undergarments. No one felt uncomfortable due to them all being family and often seen each other in their swimming gear. Which was somewhat the same.

Daniel took off Jonah's clothes due to him being the closest to him. Carrie would have done it but she didn't want to step over her boundaries.

As Daniel tugged on Jonah's pants, he let out a gasp and sob right after. Everyone stopped and walked towards Daniel and Jonah.

Tears brimmed everyone's eyes. Jonah's thighs were scattered with cuts. Words carved into his thighs. A phrase carved into his tan skin. "No saving me," was carved into Jonah's thighs. The letters not big but big enough to see.

Everyone looked around the room at each other in disappointment. Not at Jonah, but at themselves. What kind of family were they to not see that the person they love so much was drowning? I guess what they say is true, the toughest fighters fight in silence.

"Take him to his room. We can discuss this when he wakes up," Carrie told Daniel as Daniel nodded and carried Jonah's body upstairs, tears running down Daniel's cheeks. He felt the worst person to live. Jonah had always been there when Corbyn passed. But fuck he wasn't there for Jonah. And the guilt was eating him alive.

~2 hours later~

Jonah had woken up and put on sweatpants. He headed down stairs and into the living room where voices were heard.

He walked in and everyone froze. They all stared at him.

"What?" He asked.

"Jonah, baby, we need to talk," Saskia told her son in law.

"About what?" He furrowed his eyes brows.

No one uttered a single word.

"Ohh is it about earlier? It's cool y'all. I have my breakdowns all the time. It's normal," he waved them off as everyone frowned. They really were fuck ups.

"No honey," Myta, Zach's mom said softly.

"Then about what?" Jonah asked, sitting beside his momma on the couch.

Again, everyone stayed silent. And that's when it hit Jonah.

Jonah looked around and noticed everyone in their pjs. They were outside. In the rain. Jonah woke up in his boxers.

He looked down at his thighs and put his over them then looked up at Christina. He gave her a look and she nodded with tears in her eyes.

"You guys found out?" He whispered brokenly.

"We did," Kristin, Jack's mom said.

"Jonah," Ashely whispered.

"Why didn't you say something? We love you, we would have done something. Anything to help you. We would have moved in with you," Ashely pleaded, tears gently falling down her cheeks.

"I didn't want to be a bother. I didn't just lose Corbyn, you guys did to. You guys have lives to live. I didn't want to hold you guys down," Jonah whispered, not meeting anyone's eyes.

"Jonah, you aren't just our in law, you are our son. We never want to see you gone. We see Corbyn in you. We don't wanna lose you to, when you are gone completely, we won't have anything to remind us of our Corbyn," Saskia chocked on her words.

"Yes we see him in Ashely and Jordan but you knew him the best Jonah. I know he suffered in front of you. He put on a tough act for all of us. He didn't want us to worry. He was like you in this situation. But Corbyn, he suffered and vented to you. There is things you have seen that no one has. Not even us, his parents. He told you things. And I know you would never say or describe what kind of pain Corbyn was going through because you want to save us that pain and we could never thank you enough for that. You were there for Corbyn. You helped with his pain. You listened to everything. You saw the love of your life suffer everyday and you didn't utter a single word to us, to save us from the pain," ray said, tears threaten to fall from talking about the pain his first born must have went through.

"You're right. I didn't want you guys to know what was really going on behind closed doors. I didn't want you guys to see Corbyn like that. His face, his suffering face haunts my mind. I cut because it distracts me. It distracts me from thinking of everything Corbyn went through. And momentary, it distracts me from the pain that Corbyn isn't here with me anymore and that my one family gave up on me," Jonah spoke, looking at the picture frame once again.

"And I'm ok with that. It took some time. But I gave up on myself to. I'm past the point of saving," Jonah spoke, getting up.

"Jonah no you aren't. We went down this remember. We get you back up again," Christina said as everyone looked at her with wide eyed. Again? What does she mean everyone thought.

"I'm not trying again Christina. Once those letters are done, I am too," Jonah said.

"I'm past the point of saving," he mumbled.

"You guys know one of my biggest secrets now. You have two more to figure out. And you'll figure them out on the same day." Jonah said and left the room to his room.

Christina was bombarded with questions right after.

Jonah laid in his bed, staring at his cuts. He didn't see them as cuts anymore. They were his scars now. Scars to how brave he has been.

They were his war against himself
