A few months later, Harry received a broom from an anonymous person; it was confiscated by Minerva though as soon as he got his hands on it. I knew who it was from though even before I was asked by her to help Madame Hooch look at it. Sirius had sent it. But that was all that I heard of him for the rest of the month. It was nearing the end of the year now and I was beginning to hope that Lupin had found a way to keep Harry out of trouble other than teaching him to fight against dementors. One night he asked me to come to the class he was teaching Harry in. When I got there I was in for a surprise.

"Ah Professor Mira there you are." Lupin said enthusiastically while Harry sat in a chair eating chocolate, I smiled at them both. "Alright Remus what do you want?" I said it in a very business-like tone but he knew that I was just kidding around. "Well," he began, "I was hoping that you'd be able to provide a target for Harry - my second years decided to blow up the Boggart that I used in their lesson today and I'm not as good at the draining spell as you are." He grinned. I shook my head and sighed but did not reject the 'offer'.

"If I must," I stood on the other side of the room, raised my wand and waited for Lupin's command. "Alright Harry, Professor Mira is going to cast a spell that will have the same effect on you as what a dementor does I just want you to try and use your patronus as if she was one." He smiled encouragingly at Harry and helped him to stand. Lupin stepped back a few paces and crossed his arms. "Alright on my mark... Go." As soon as he said it I focused my energy on Harry, it was an easy enough spell but it took concentration, I saw Harry falter slightly at first and backed off a little.

"Right now Harry get your happy memory and go for it." Harry nodded and raised his wand at me.

"Expecto patronum!" He shouted at me while flicking his wand. A shimmering light flowed out of his wand and I let it run its’ course before stopping my spell. Harry was breathing heavily and moved over to the chair and sat, he looked pale and very tired. "Eat this." Remus said while handing him a piece of chocolate. "You did a good job Harry, very well done." I said leaning against the wall as he ate. When he had finished he stood and Lupin patted his shoulder. "I think that's enough for today Harry, I will see you next week at the same time." It was the full moon so I was covering Lupin's classes for the moment. Harry turned before leaving. "Professor... I was wondering..." Lupin cut him off.

"Don't worry Harry I have it in a safe place." He patted his pocket as he said it and bade him a good night. "Good night Professor," Harry replied. He closed the door and Lupin turned on me. "Harry saw Peter Pettigrew on the map!" He was so excited he pretty much shouted it. “What map?” I asked, confused.

"Peter Pettigrew must be alive, the map doesn't lie." I just stood there as he continued excitedly, obviously not hearing me.

"I know he’s alive- What map?"

He looked almost confused. "Didn't Sirius tell you? The map was created by the four of us when we were in school. It shows all the secret passages and everyone's position in the grounds." I raised both of my eyebrows.

"No he didn't tell me. But then that wasn't really the first thing on our minds." I smiled slightly, embarrassed. Lupin laughed merrily, but suddenly stopped. "Oh I didn't realise what time it was," he looked up at the clock on the wall. I turned around and looked as well. "I guess that there's no point in going down to Hagrid's tonight, and I really wanted to say something before tomorrow." I said sadly. Hagrid's Hippogriff that had attacked Draco Malfoy at the beginning of the year had been condemned to death by the Ministry after a trial petitioned by his father Lucius. Hagrid had been a mess all week and as tomorrow was the date of execution, Lupin and I were going to go down and comfort him. "We’ll see him tomorrow at breakfast." He said quietly and placed a hand on my shoulder.
