I felt a huge sense of relief after asking Haren to sign my scroll. I could hardly contain my excitement when he said yes.

I was going to take the winter classes. Which meant I'd get to spend more time with him.

"Miss hea— I mean... miss Liafina?" After Haren signed my scroll I went straight to the headmistress' office to give it to her. I knocked on the door.

"Come in."

I walked in and sat down in the armchair in front of her desk. For the first time since I got here, I wasn't feeling nervous.

"Good afternoon, miss Liafina," I said.

"Good afternoon to you too," she replied with a smile," I think I know the answer, but I'll ask anyway; what brings you here today?"

"I've come to give you my signed winter class registration," I answered, setting the red-orange scroll down on the desk.

"I had a feeling," Liafina took the scroll and read the name at the bottom," ah. I see I was right when I guessed you'd pick him."

"You knew I'd ask Haren to act as my guardian?"

She smiled," I could tell from the moment I asked you to chose someone yourself."

"Am I that obvious?" I asked.

"Yes," the headmistress chuckled," oh! I just remembered!"

"Remembered what?"

"Yes, Yes. They should be arriving any minute now," Liafina smiled.

After a few minutes of silent waiting, the headmistress stood up. I turned in my seat to see what had suddenly caught her attention. A tall white frame had appeared behind me in the center of the room. From it, a black haired girl stepped into the office and the white thing disappeared.

"Hello, mother." The girl said as Liafina pulled her into a hug.

"It's so good to see you again."

"I'm happy to see you too." The girl replied.

Liafina released her from the hug and returned to her chair. The girl sat down in the other chair next to me.

Now that I wasn't straining my neck to look at her, I could see that she was wearing what looked like an academy uniform, only it was black and gray instead of gray and white.

"So, I understand you have some business with a few of the students?" Liafina said.

"Yes. I'm sorry again for dropping in on such short notice. It was urgent."

"Well, I'm sure we'll have some time to catch up later. For now, miss Nephinae can show you to the dorm where the students you're looking for should be."

"Then we'll head there right now," The girl stood up and turned to me," please, lead the way."

"Bye, miss Liafina," I bowed to the headmistress before leading the black haired girl out to the hall.

She was quiet until we reached the dorm.

I opened the door for her," after you."

"Why thank you," she smiled at me and I followed her into the commons.

Haren and August were sitting on the couch together with books in their hands. Elviya, Sylviana, and Silver were sitting at a table with a deck of cards.

The girl took a moment to survey the room before walking over to the couch. She stood silently behind Haren.

After a minute, the redhead looked up at her with a confused expression,"Elise? What are you doing here?" He asked.
