After taking a bath to wash my hair, I put on the new clothes that Yukiko had brought me. A white shirt with long sleeves and loose brown pants. When I was done getting dressed, Yukiko and I returned to Nephinae and my shared room. She wasn't back yet. Yukiko didn't seem surprised to see her gone, so I shrugged it off as nothing. I borrowed Nephinae's hair brush and sat down on the chair at the table.
Nephinae came back after a few minute, but left with Yukiko almost immediately after. They were gone long past the time for dinner; I ate alone in our room when a maid brought me food. After eating, I waited. 10 minutes; 20; an hour.
It was nearly 9:40 when the door to the bedroom opened. I found myself feeling disappointed when I realized it wasn't Nephinae, but one of the maids cleaning up my tray of food from dinner.
"Good night, sir," the maid bowed as she left.
I sighed and put my head down on the table. Before I realized it, I had fallen asleep, only noticing when I was woken by the sudden feeling of being picked up. I ended up falling asleep again before I could figure out who it was.
Now, imagine my confusion when I woke up at dawn the next morning to find myself curled up on one side of Nephinae's bed. The girl in question was sitting at the table brushing through her long golden hair. She looked over when I sat up.
"Morning," she smiled." Glad to see you slept well."
"You're up early," I replied with a yawn.
Nephinae shrugged," Well, we are leaving today."
"...We're what?"
"Oh that's right, you were asleep," Nephinae let out a small sigh." Lynari and I talked with Khirion last night. Ana and Jay want to get back to the capitol soon and we decided to go with them. After all: our job isn't over until they reach their destination."
"Are you feeling well enough to make a trip that long?" I asked.
"It's only about two weeks or so," she replied." I'll be fine."
"Well...ok. When are we leaving?"
"After breakfast, so hurry up and get ready. I'm heading down to the dinning room now."
"Alright, alright, I'm coming." I crawled out of bed and met Nephinae at the door.
The two of us walked down to the dinning room together. When we got there, we found that everyone else was already there. The dinning room was loud and full of energetic chatter throughout breakfast. Towards the end of the meal, the lord Khirion loudly cleared his throat to get everyone's attention.
The room fell silent as Khirion stood up," Now then... today is a very sad day for I must offer goodbyes to you all as you continue your journey to the capital. In the short few days that you've been with us I've grown rather accustomed to your company, but, never the less, we shall send you off with smiles."
"Well said, uncle," Anastasia smiled.
"I have something to say!" It surprised everyone when Miafilellie suddenly slammed her hands down on the table, platers and silverware clinking together as she did. The young pink haired lady stood with enough force to knock her chair over had a nearby maid not caught it.
"W-what is it, Mia?" The lord seemed as confused by his daughters outburst as we were.
"Father...I want to go with them," the lady Miafilellie announced with a firm determination as she locked eyes with her father.
The two stared at each other for what felt like forever, though it was only a minute or so. They seemed to be having some kind of silent argument. One that Khirion lost, judging by his defeated sounding sigh as he sat down.
