It's been over two weeks since the...incident at the palace. For the first two days after it was chaos in the palace as everyone tried to figure out what happened.
There were six casualties total for our side consisting of a few palace guards, but many more were injured. Nephinae and Lynari were among those being treated in the infirmiry that had been set up in the palace. After four days, the doctors and healers determined that both Nephinae and Lynari's injuries had been fully healed, yet neither had woken yet. Worried for their conditions, the emperor consulted Nephinae's familiars, but even they had no clue as to why neither girls had woken yet.
After a wekk, we decided it would be best to move the two to a place where they could recieve better care. On the morning of the 8th day, Miafilellie, Yukiko and I set off from the palace.
We traveled by wagon for about a week or so to the home of a healer living in the forest outside the capital. We arrived at the gate of the property early in the morning of the day of the 28th.
"Welcome, adventurers, Lady Miafilellie. The emperor sent word of your arrival," A young woman in a white kimono greete us at the gate." Please, come inside. Lady Kyoko is waiting for you."
As we entered the gate, I felt two magic barriers pass over me. My eyes widened at the sight before me.
Once past the second barrier the snowyforest around us shifted. It was now a wide empty garden surrounding a large, two story house. The most surprising part was that the garden, despite the cold and snow, was in full bloom.
"Lady Kyoko is waiting inside," said the woman escorting us.
I nodded and carried Nephinae inside; Miafilellie took Lynari. Once inside, we were instructed to take off our shoes at the door before we were led deeper into the house.
Down a short hallway, our escort stopped in front of a set of double sliding doors. She knocked twice.
"Lady Kyoko, they've arrived."
"Enter," came a honey-like voice.
The woman bowed and opened the doors. Inside the room, a young woman wearing a cherry blossom pink sacred robe sat on the floor in the middle of the room with a book sitting in front of her and a quill in her left hand. She pushed her long, wavy white hair from her face as she turned to face us.
"Ryo told me you were coming," she said, her golden orange eyes glancing over us." Lenna, bring those two to the room." the woman gestured to Nephinae and Lynari.
"Yes, Lady Kyoko," the woman bowed. She took Lynari from Miafilellie and Yukiko took Nephinae from me.
When the two women were gone, the white haired beastman stood up, her tail swishing against her long robe as she walked over to Miafilellie and me. She was silent for a few minutes as her orange eyes raked over me.
"Lady Kyoko," Miafilellie bowed to the woman." It's good to see you again."
The woman, Kyoko, I guess, nodded," Who is this?" she asked, lookiing back to me.
"My name is Wolf. I'm a scythemaster. Adventurer rank E." I said.
Kyoko narrowed her eyes," Mia, leave us for a while, please."
"Yes, Lady Kyoko," Miafilellie bowed and left, closing the doors behind her.
When she was gone, Kyoko turned back to me," Now, would you like to try that again?" she asked.
"You could tell that wasn't my real name?" I asked. Kyoko nodded." Sorry, but I don't go by my real name anymore. I am a scythemaster, but I haven't been officially registered as an adventurer. That good enough for you?"
