Pokémon: A New Chapter

Chapter 8: Chili

(For clarification, Swift hates walking on two legs and is always quadrupedal)

Cilan and Cress walked off of the stage and into a room, leaving Chili and Hilbert behind on the battlefield.

It was a rectangular shape with white outlines and a white outlined pokébal in the middle. Leo was already ready and stood on Hilbert's side of the battlefield.

A referee appeared on the side lines. He wore a waiter suit just like the triplets and had flat black hair.

"This match will be between Gym Leader Chili and challenger Hilbert, it is a two against two battle , the challenger may switch out his Pokémon while the Gym Leader may not" he spoke.

Both Hilbert and Chili nodded.

"Go Lillipup!" Chili yelled again, making Hilbert flinch again which in turn made Leo growl.

Out came a cute looking Lillipup, but fire burned in his eyes.

"Great another Lillipup" Leo snarled.

The Lillipup didn't respond and just looked at the Grass Snake Pokémon.

"Mute, aren't we? We'll see about that" Leo sneered flicking his tail like an angry Purrloin.

Again, no response which angered Leo.

"Lillipup use work up!" Chili yelled enthusiastically, "Leo use vine whip to stop that work up!" Hilbert said.

Lillipup stomped his paws on the ground and looked to be concentrating. Leo made his vines appear from his hood and wrapped them around the Lillipup, quickly lifting it up and slamming him down on the ground. The Pokémon grunted when he hit the ground and Leo let go of the Lillipup and pulled back his two vines but they still surrounded him.

"Aaah, use work up again! We can't let them hit you again!" Chili raged from the other side, "use vine whip again!" Hilbert quickly said.

Leo's vines shot towards the Lillipup ready to wrap him up, but suddenly Chili yelled: "now use bite!" Lillipups fangs began to grow and glowed a dull white and it latched onto the nearest vine. Leo let out a painful cry and pulled back. He frantically shook his vines and eventually slammed them on the ground. The Lillipup let go when he almost hit the ground and jumped gracefully on the field.

Leo growled at it and retrieved his vines into his hood.

"Use tackle!" Hilbert said, "catch his tail with bite!" Chili yelled.

'Great Arceus, please stop yelling' Hilbert thought.

Leo ran towards the Lillipup and swiped his tail against the Lillipups side. The Lillipup bit down on Leo's tail which resulted into another cry of pain from Leo.

"Slam him against the ground quick!" Hilbert said in panic.

Leo quickly turned around in the air, lifting the Lillipup up and making a salto. He slammed his tail with the Lillipup on it into the ground. The Lillipup let go and cried out his name.

But it still got up, Leo growled again and flicked his tail in annoyance.

"Hah, you thought that that would be it didn't you? Those attacks won't work against my Lillipup!" Chili aggressively yelled.

Hilbert gritted his teeth and ordered Leo to use tackle again. This time the Lillipup dodged it and used work up. Now they were in real trouble.

"Use tackle!" Chili yelled, "fend him off with vine whip!" Hilbert said panic trying to escape his throat. His heart beat loudly and he could feel it in his throat, he saw how Leo hit the Lillipup in his side and how the Lillipup was thrown against the wall. It fell on the ground and bounced in the air, once it stopped bouncing he lay still and his eyes were closed.
