Chapter 3: Leo, where are you?

Bianca looked at Hilbert with a bright smile on her face, "of course! You don't know for how long I've wanted to go on a journey! I never had anyone!" she said.

Cheren looked at her in surprise, "before you say anything Cherry, I asked you but you said no" Bianca put her hands on her hip and she looked at Cheren with a stern look in her eyes.

"Are you sure? You basically just met him" Cheren answered and he rose an eyebrow.

"I owe him something Cheren, he saved my life AND my Tepig" Bianca responded.

Cheren looked at her and nodded, "fine, but I'm going with you guys" he then said.

"That sounds fun!" Hilbert said with a smile, "by the way Hilbert, what did you name your starter?" Bianca turned to the brunette and she held her Tepig in her arms.

"I actually didn't know that you could name them..." he replied, "well now you do! Name him! My Tepig's name is Lily! Cherry named his starter Henry!" the girl quickly said and she poked Cheren. At the sound of his name, Cheren's starter puffed out his chest and put it's little arms on his sides.

Hilbert let out a small giggle at the sight.

Cheren rolled his eyes, "I didn't name him YOU did" he said as he fixed his glasses. Bianca answered the boy with a smile, Cheren rolled his eyes again.

Hilbert chuckled and he picked up his starter, he had sworn to not get a connection with his starter but giving it a name is the least he could do for it.

"What about Harvey?" he suggested, the Snivy looked at him with a weird look and shook it's head, "John?" the Snivy shook his head again, "Leo?" this time it took longer but eventually the starter nodded and let out an approving squeak. Hilbert smiled and stroked it's head, "then Leo it is" he said.

"Nice name!" Bianca chirped as she took the Snivy from Hilbert and cuddled it, Leo however didn't liked that and tried it's best to get out of the girls grip.

Hilbert chuckled, "Bianca can you let go? I don't think he likes it" the boy said. Bianca pouted and let the Pokémon go, the Pokémon was back at his trainers feet within seconds. It stayed put but continued to watch the other two Pokémon with curiosity.

Cheren coughed and touched his glasses, "what I think that we should do is go to our houses and pack our things, we'll meet at Professor Junipers lab to get a pokédex and some more information."

"That's a good idea. I'll see you guys there" Hilbert said with a small smile, the boy stood up and used his left arm to open Bianca's door he flinched when his shoulder stung again but ignored it and it eventually ebbed away. He let Cheren through first and then followed the raven haired boy.

They walked in silence until they had to split up, "Hilbert promise me one thing" Cheren suddenly said. "What is it?" Hilbert answered, "to protect Bianca and don't let anything happen to her or pull her in dangerous situations. If something happens to her I would never forgive you" Cheren said looking at Hilbert with the most serious look ever. "I promise".

Cheren nodded and they stood there in silence for a minute before parting ways.

Once at home Hilbert only packed the most essential things that he would need, he found an old tent in the garage under a lot of boxes and even got his hands on a small cooking set. He packed some clothes, he would get the occasion to wash them sometime.

Once he was finished he checked everything and then said goodbye to his parents (again). He left his home that he had lived in for the past years of his life. A big imaginary chunk got stuck in his throat, no, he wasn't going to cry. He had to do this, now is not the time to rethink his choice. The decision had already been made and turning back would make him a coward. Someone had to save Rosa. He couldn't rely on the police or Alder, they were too busy with the recent appearance of some Free the Pokémon organization and wouldn't waste their time on a kidnapping.
