Chapter 9: Dream Mist

Hilbert retrieved his Pokémon after 2 and a half hours and released them. Swift and Leo both looked fully healed and their bodies were no longer littered with scorch marks.

"Loin!" the Purrloin hissed as she licked her fur.

"Fucking fire types" she hissed and she licked her now finally beautiful fur again. The woman who had treated her had spend more then an hour on her fur. At least the woman was nice enough to do it.

"Tell me about it" Leo answered her with the flick of his tail. He also looked really annoyed.

"Hey guys, I wanted to thank you for getting me this Gym Badge!" Hilbert said to them, a smile lingering on his lips. Swift purred and rubbed her head against his calves, "Sni!" Leo answered and he jumped onto Hilbert's shoulder.

Hilbert scratched him behind his head and began to walk in the direction of route 3 with Swift close on his heels.

A woman called out to him from afar and for the thousandth time that day, Hilbert got startled again. The boy sighed as his tense shoulders relaxed again and turned towards the voice.

It was a young woman with blue, black hair a pinkish lab coat and red glasses.

"Hey there! I'm Fennel." she introduced herself with a playful smile.

"Uhm... I'm Hilbert" Hilbert said quietly as he shook the outstretched hand of Fennel.

"I was correct I see! Professor Juniper asked me to give you something!" she enthusiastically said, she grabbed his wrist and dragged him with her. "Follow me!"

'This is not me following you' Hilbert thought as he tried to yank his wrist free. The woman's grip was surprisingly strong and he soon gave up. Swift hissed as she tried to claw at the woman's lab coat but missed. Leo stood protectively on Hilbert's shoulder and studied the woman's movements.

She opened a door on the opposite side of the Gym and pushed him inside.

Hilbert felt really uncomfortable as he stood there, the room was nicely decorated the strong smell of flowers hit him.

"You're going to meet all of the Pokémon in the Unova region. Am I right?" she asked him, Hilbert nodded awkwardly still unsure of what to do. He really did not enjoy this.

She immediately got sidetracked again; "Oh, the stairs are right here!" she grabbed his wrist again and drag him towards the stairs at the other side of the room.

"My room is upstairs here. Come on, go upstairs!" she excitedly said.

'Um... how about no?' Hilbert feeling of uncomfortable raised another level. This woman was even weirder than Chili and N.

He didn't have more time to think when she grabbed his wrist again and dragged him up the stairs and pushed him into her room. She closed the door just before Swift's snout and he heard a loud bang against the door and a cry of rage.

"Oh my Arceus I'm so sorry!" she cried out and opened the door. Swift sat on the ground with the most pissed off expression on her face Hilbert had ever seen, she swayed a tail to signal that she was ready to pounce. Hilbert quickly picked her up and lay her in his arms, afraid of her hurting Fennel.

Then he stood in some kind of laboratory just like Professor Junipers. But it looked weirder.

He really did not like this extroverted woman.

"So like I said, I'm Fennel, and as you can see I'm a scientist!" she explained, "in fact, the subject I'm researching is Trainers!"

"Professor Juniper is my friend from college. She asked me to help you guys"
